"Of the experienced players listed above the situation was as  followswith minimal game time this year:-
Fourie du PreezWillem AlbertsJean de Villiers
Du Preez had no meaningful games on the required level from June 2014 - when eh put in two very average performances for the Springboks."
Compare that to this:

I apologize about the Springboks
September 26, 2015, 20:10:02

I apologize about my forecast of a Springbok defeat and admit openly I was wrong.  The players who made a massive difference to the team was -

*   Willie le Roux*   Damian de Allende *   Fourie du Preez*   Duane Vermeulen

No I wrote the comments after the Samoa game I believe - but once you wrote something like that it does not mean that it was maintained in succeeding matches.  It seems if comments are made iro one match - the dunce applies it to all succeeding matches.  He is so stupid that nothing positive can ever be deducted from his stupidity.  Remains an idiot - will always be an idiot.

It defies all comprehension how as a true Bok supporter you could even begin to utter such profanity.....fuck me!!

No excuses dud.  What I wrote was after a specific match and applied to that match only.  Du Preez went progressively backwards after that match and i clearlys tated that his performance in the semi was below par.
D o you ever understand anything dud?  I have given up thinking that you might have had a brain - but it seems that the brain - if you have one - is malfunctioning con tinuously.

F du Preez got us through the QF...he didn't have an influential semi....but no Bok back did. And FDuP was heavily targeted as the Bok talisman. There was no other scrum half who was a serious alternative....not the retreaded wings, not the small chap without a boot.

Just be done with it and get someone like wee Robbie Deans ,apart from playing the ABS [ and even there he has a better record than any Aussie coach this century  ] .He could even work with Meyer as Hansen and Henry did. After all Deans had a positive win record vs the Boks and all bar the ABS.

He had a BS semi and he got us through nothing in the quarterfinals - any scrummie would have scored that try.  He was instrumental in the worst display of non-rugby put up by the Springboks in both matches.  Stupidity means repeating endlessly a strategy that never worked - and what he did was stupid and non-productive.   Passing the balls constantly to a forward and neutralizing the backline was what he did.
Lets have a look at the stats of this guy:-
du Preez0/0013/50/71500003/10/000/0
He handled the ball 70 times in that match.  Of those 70 times he
*  kicked the ball 13 times - all kicks representing possession hand-overs to the ABS;*  passed the ball 50 times - of which only 17 went to the flyhalf and the rest to forwards -especially Burger, an unworkable BS strategy that ultimately cost us the match because Burger in the process lost ball possession;*  ineffectively carried the ball 7 times
For the rest he made 3 tackles and missed 1 - a missed tackle ratio of 25%
It was not a case of "he did not have an influential semi" - it was the case of him havi ng a poor semi.

Now should I believe Tokkie or 5 independent professional rugby sources? F Du Preez vs Wales...
 9. Fourie du Preez [8]

Rugby365: 9/10
Still a player for the BIG moments. While he was not flawless, he kept his match-winning play in the bank till he really needed it.

Sport24: 7.5/10
Thoroughly efficient rather than awe-inspiring for large parts of game, as Wales did everything they could to disrupt or blunt the little general. But earns a full extra point on my card for sublime anticipation and cool-headedness in the working of his match-winning try …

Daily Mail UK: 8/10
Took his late try superbly and also marshalled and organised the team despite age catching up.

Telegraph UK: 8/10
The little general struck the killer blow for the Springboks latching on to Vermeulen’s offload. Expertly marshalled his team around the field.

OuGrote: 8/10

And this is how the Telegraph saw his semi...granted they picked up some subtleties you obviously missed..but what else is new

9. Fourie du Preez

Box kicking was bang on the money and frequently the man responsible for mopping up the pieces when things became loose, in particular when Carter’s penalty the the post. 8

He was rated as a 5/10 in the SA media and was in fact piss-poor in that game - FACT.  That try against Wales any Springbok scrummie - even the desperately poor Pienaar could have scored.  Du Preez got the ball in the clear - beat no defenders and dotted down - what was so wonderful about it?
Fact is that Mozart is always wrong about player assessments and one thing we can be really happy about - Du Preez and his soul mate Matfield will never have another Springbok game to destrroy any chances of winning games.

Dunno Mozart. FDP is still a good player. But really, my gut tells me, thus my opinion, is that we have 9s in SA that had Mr EggHead been endowed with some foresight he could have groomed and who would have been more than ready for the WC challenge.
Everyone makes such a bid deal of the WC and how tough it is, but four out of five(six if in final) of the games we played were against teams that would get crucified in the CC...let alone the S15. Wales might hang in the CC but will get pumped full of leather in the S15. The only teams the Boks should have been really tested against were the ABs in the semis and Oz in the final. Now, if you consider that they had all those pool/warm-up games and then really only one(possibly two if in final) tough ones...the WC really amounted to much less of a challenge than an average year's Rugby Championship. Of course though, if you listen to Meyer, the Welsh are sooooo very very good...and so are Samoa...so are Scotland and jeez how amazingly good are Japan. I call BS! He could have started grooming a new 9 last year(Faf, Reinach and Paige were all ready for the step up) and by the semis that nine could have had more than 10 caps already.
I am totally willing to concede that of the list of undeserving players, FDP probably performed the best. Just another one in the long long long list of Meyer's failures.

Have to disagree Plum....Reinach has had plenty of chances in a Bok jersey, Hougaard has had plenty of chances in a Bok jersey. They had some good moments ball in hand....but their service was unreliable, ther decision making faulty. They were in fact, not the answer.
Everybody like Faf, a traditional scrummie witha break. I think he could have been given a chance....but he seems to have a problem with the boot. And how many scrummie breaks did you see at the WC? His strongest suit was unlikely to have been effectively deployed in that setting.
Without F du Preez I think Wales would have taken us.
