During his playing years Fourie du Preez's weight was given as 91 kgs.
Recent photos showed a much portlier Du Preez and my guess is he weighs around 97 to 100 kgs at present?   Anyone with a more recent weight for Du Preez around?

Just a reminder - I am not playing rugby anymore, so I am not being discussed here.  Show some sense stupid - and give us info on the weight of Du Preez if you have it.  If not - then defend Du Preez in the same style as you do about matches and players you have never seen.

Just following your philosophy Perv.  You started a string on here with the punch line that you treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. As we can see on this string and others about Frans  and Alberts ....you call people fat.

So one has to assume you want to be called fat yourself. I went one step further, I provided proof.

 That was classless Moz...
As long as he gives us quick ball and makes the right decisions I don't care how old or fat he is.

Offside Moz! Mike is not a current rugby player so his weight will not hamper his performance.

I have never hidden the fact that I am fat - but I am not an international rugby player. Neither should Alberts and Steyn be - because they are too fat to  contribute in a any game because their overweight makes them too slow.   The question I asked about Du Preez is based on recent photos.
If he is slow to get to breakdown points because of overweight he will not contribute and we already have a problem with Pienaar in that regard.
However, nobody knows what Du Preez is going to be like in performance.  He has not had a decent match for more than 14 months and even in the June 2014 tests he was not a house on fire.   He even implied himself he is not match-fit and we will have to wait and see what happens.
I have reason to believe that like others of the hospital ward cases - with the possible exception of Vermeulen - he will be undercooked and a failure in the upcoming tournament.

I don't know what article are you talking about but one thing is to agree to publish or reproduce one article where there's a photo and another very diferent to use that photo the way moz did.
And it's not only to put the picture, is the way of answering with personal issues to a perfectly legit comment about a pro player's condition or weight.

It's getting very unpleasant to follow the threads of this site. All of them, and lately they are literally all of them, end up in personal attacks and insults where the rugby related matters get relegated to almost nothing. And I'm not saying that insults and atttacks should be banned, this is internet, but when they turn into the only way people get on it becomes annoying.
In this case mozart has broken all the records.

You are a bloody liar - I did not solicit anything - but did agree to the request for an interview.  If that was wrong then it must be so in the mind of the two sick people on this site - who suffer from what I would call lunacy when opposed by anybody.   As AB said that was an act of vindictiveness to be expected from you and Mozart.

Not to worry - it does not bother me.  I know what to expect from the mentally sick members on the site.   As far as I am concerned they constantly do the same to divert rugby discussions i nto personal insults - so just ignore the two liars as representing low life that unfortunately is found on each site of this nature.

Not over the top at all. This guy calls a bunch of our rugby players and posters anything he likes. All I have done is provide the photograph he himself solicited by directing us to the article where it was shown.

Passive aggressive objections.....which carry no weight with me. The aggressor as the victim, typical modern rubbish.

You are a lowlife idiot - nothing more.  Nobody has called more players anything he likes and so you do with posters who dares to differ from you.  You set the example of derogatory names for players and do not care to lie about things if it fits your book.
You have once again been caught out for what you really are - the worst member of this site ever.   I never directed you to any article - you bloody liar.   I mentioned the article in a posting and did not think somebody would trace the article and put it on this site.   All I said was that I did not realize that people do appreciate what I have done during my time there and that saddened me at the time I was leaving the area.   An entirely human way to look at things.   You turned that into a vicious personal attack on me in your normal way.
This is another example of what you really are - the lowest type of thing ever crawling on this world.   But it does not bother me - it bothers other members of this site - hence my previous comments on the issue.

Back to the original post from Mike.

I see your concerns about Du Preez, but I don't think he's fat. He's obviously not in the shape he was a few years ago, but it would be silly to expect him to be. If there's a player who can make up for the lack of physical qualities with game intelligence and technical ability then it's our man Fourie Du Preez.
Whilst I would have liked to have a true running option at scrummie in the Faf or Reinach mould, as a different option but obviously this hasn't happened. (maybe Paige is but I haven't watched him enough)

However, in the NH you need some to dictate the tempo of the game and give good quality, quick ball. Du Preez can be that man - maybe I'm overly optimistic but I've just got a feeling he's going to be huge for us this WC.

Balls you mentioned the article specifically so it could be found. Live with it. But if you are going to call others fat, you could at least do a bit of simple exercising yourself....as a fat slob you have no right to call player after player fat. It's the fat pot calling the kettle black.

I would rather have FDP on crutches at the base of the ruck than Hougaard. FDP knows the best options to take so he makes everyone else play better.
He is a rugby brain and hopefully he goes into coaching as he knows the game.

Low life - you had no right to splash my photo on this site without my permission.   I can remember when Rooinek splashed info on you on this site and you went ballistic.
You are a liar as well - a proven one as well.  You always lie about players and your version of what actually happened in the case of this one is also a lie.   I sometimes wonder how you bear to face people when you constantly spread personal hatred of anyone who dare to disagree  with you in this site.
However - you have gone too far in this case and you have thoroughly disgraced yourself.

Pervert I can understand your distress ...it's an eye sore. But there are two  possible cures. Don't provide a reference to it on a public site. Or two stop insulting guys who are Springbok greats on a South African rugby site.....using insults which apply much  more to you.

I have no qualms about this at all....you are the source for the information.

I repeat.....nobody would have known about the article or the picture if you hadnt provided clear directions to find it....for your own self promotion. And to suggest you have rights that Steyn, Du Preez and Alberts don't have....that showing you are fat slob is worse  than you constantly calling players the same thing....is a nonsense.

I will continue to put a spotlight on your hypocrisy....count on it.

Silliness aside, this has gone too far! It is becoming boring! A while back we all agreed to drop the personal pics and attacks.....PLEASE CAN WE GO BACK TO THAT!!!!

You ain't see nothing yet - wait until after the WC and then you will see what happens on the site - with no rugby to discuss.  Last year the lowlife Hitler aka Mozart sent me an e-mail - he somehow got my e-mail address - about the issue of Dave (Saffex) being fat and wanted to get my support for his harping on that statement.   You cannot put anything beyond him.
He hates my guts for not supporting his constant personal attacks and also for writing negatively about the over-30 players he so adore and constantly attack younger players who showed them up for what they really are.  He would even invent lies to constantly attack them and if anybody pointed out the lies - he gets vicious and the personal attacks follow.
If we fo out at the quarter-final stage in the WC - he will have some defending to do especially of the reputation players he constantly and slavishly support.  That would indeed turn vicious - hence you ain't saw nothing yet.

So for the record here we have the sequence:

1 The Solicitation. Perv provides search information for the article....including words from the headline to make sure it's found.

"I am rather saddened by my departure.   When the owner and editor of the North Coast Courier heard that I am leaving he sent a reporter to me to write a report on the issue.  His one sentence started - "Affectionately known as 'Mr Municipality' ....".

2. The permission. Perv gives deddy permission to publish the article, which of course contains the picture. Deddy does so leaving out the picture.

 3. The confirmation. Perv having seen me add the picture, says he has no problem with it.

"I never thought that somebody would google the article and when APD did that and asked if he could put it on this site I could find no reason to ask him not to.
I do not mind the photo either - I am 73 years old and never made a secret of that so what does a 73 year old look like?   What is important is that a person should adjust  his thinking and keep up to date with what is happening and especially so in the game we all love."  4. The hypocrisy....the feigned outrage about something he has already approved.
