That move between Duane and Du Preez was a rehearsed move that Du Preez came up with, Meyer revealed. Apparently he had studied the Welsh defence and noted how they defend the blindside. So they had Habana shift out to the right and the Welsh left a pocket of space there, Du Preez cancelled their original play and instructed Duane to go left after he dummied a play to the right. The rest is history.
No substitute for brains and showing once again that to play attacking rugby you require puzzle solving skills. This means seeing, identifying what is in front of you, then calculating a solution to the problem. 

Interesting stuff...one wonders if our backline coach makes a contribution occasionally. On a simpler level, one of the things du Preez does is make each phase a left/ right option. So many of these scrummies just march the team in one predictable direction.  

That's the importance of dominating the centre of the field and why dinosaur rugby with pods hitting it up is so crucial.
