Thread: It seems to me.
Saffex: JJ will be our 13 for years to come and rightly so. He will go down as our best 13 since Gerber... has had far more attacking clout than Snyman, Mulder, Joubert and Fourie. His partnership with Serfontein will be our best since readmission.
Getting deeper into tha pesky wabbit hole. LOL!!

You cannot learn a specialists position at test level.
All you end up doing is making an arse of yourself and letting your team down.

The Bulls are struggling at centre, and that has been a big reason for their decline. JJ has been totally ineffective. Heck, even Jordaan has been better.

So he totally sucks as an outside centre but HasBEEN-outjie thinks he could have been a good wing. These guys probably still believe in the tooth fairy.

Ball in hand in space he is dangerous. He may be a better 7 's player

JJ is one of those lazy types like Mvovo, expects the ball to come to him. You have to work too hard in 7s and you need to make quicker reads on defence. He isn't that player. Just a slender man who can run fast in a straight line. Ioane was a similar sort, gone now. But he was never played at centre. Saffers like a runner who dies with the ball at centre. The backline equivalent of punch runners off 9, but off 10. Too bad they always go for the less imposing tap dancers.

A little reading comprehension goes a long way Big Guy. The fact that JJ failed is the measure of this scrawny, untalented tragedy. He f ailed to make a mark at Super rugby level as well.

DF
To much emphasis is placed on reputation. Fourie when he reurned to play for the Springboks in 2013 -
* was as slow as a carthorse and easily beaten twice on the outside by Davies in the Wales test;
* Made his tackles when he managed to get to the ball carriers; and
* was very poor in attacking play and I mean very, very poor.
Fourie in his hay day was a star center - after his departure for Japan he became useless. he was even worse than Fransie - and that takes some doing.

So what if he did? This was a very open, structureless game and he still failed to assert his running ability to give the Boks any kind of edge. In fact, he turned up in those key moments which swung the test in New Zealand's favour. He ended the year as the worst defensive centre - the worst of the Meyer era thus far - so your faith in him is provably misplaced.
