Bad luck Hurricanes' fans, the oracle has spoken.
Meet Gus Schaumkel. The Dunedin man was second-in-line at the Regent Theatre to buy ticket's to this Saturday's Super Rugby final between his beloved Highlanders and the Hurricanes.
He was so confident it would be an all-New Zealand final he booked his return tickets for Wellington on Friday.
Hurricanes vs Highlanders: Show your team pride\\
Yes, you read correctly, Friday - the day before both teams won their respective semifinals.
"I wasn't worried at all."
Schaumkel said he first started supporting the Highlanders when he lived in Auckland, and that love affair has only grown since moving to Dunedin five years ago.
And if he can pick the finalist by putting his money where his mouth is, what is his pick for the final?
"Easy. Highlanders by nine."
He was one of seven Highlanders' fans waiting to buy tickets for the final on Monday, and don't think it is an easy job.
These Southern lads had to endure a 20-minute powercut that threatened their road to the final.
The company behind Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium said they would not be showing the game on the big screen due to an existing commercial booking.
