So many names, But how many of these many names have established themselves as Bok regulars? Would you believe three...Etzebeth, Vermeulen and Willie.
No Step is not a regular, still trying to solidify a place.
No Pollard isn't a regular, he should be, but HM still sees Lambie as closer to the player he really has faith in....Morne.
Not Reinach of the rolling pass and charged kick.
Not Malherbe even though his form in the notoriously weak scrumming of the S15 has improved.
Not Strauss...Bis is still more dynamic.
Not Lomp, not Stephanie....they hardly have a good provincial game under their belts.
Not Arno Botha, not Mohoje nor Kolisi. No not even multiple caps Coetzee, far too predictable...no fetch, no offload.
The fact is these lists of potential Boks are the dreams of naive posters, who have no clue about the difference between the S15 and test rugby....no sense about what constitutes a fatal flaw...no ability to read a player's mental readiness to play on the big stage.
No there are no lists of test ready new players. New test players are rare....Etzebeth, Vermeulen, Le Roux and yes Pollard dont come along very often.

Who the hell is Willie Meyer? Is he perhaps related to Heineke by any chance?
Why have none of the players you mention been part of the Springbok teams on a more regular basis? I will tell you why - because Meyer is besotted with players who have l been in serious decline since 2011 or in some cases have proved that they should never have been in the Springbok team in the first place.
The latter included players like Morne Steyn, who cannot even make the starting line-up of his club. The declined performances all came from players well into their 30's - not a shadow of the players they used to be. The fact that there has been virtually no player renewal under Meyer is the reason that even since 2013 our test performances have gone backwards.
You mentioned for instance Malherbe - but what about Jannie who has been below par in the "notoriously weak scrumming in 2015". Your main problem is that you constantly support Meyer in running back to has-beens instead of developing players to solidify their positions in test rugby. So stick with the hopeless geriatrics who has become more and more hopeless as times go on.
The fact really is that the BS in performances can be laid at the door of the failed players - like Morne (even mentioning him as being a reliable player shows how poor your rugby performance evaluation is), and your constant support of other failing players. Who would want Fransie - one of the worst performing centers in Super 15 - int eh Springbok team. Who wants the bumbling and useless Alberts? And the joke Jannie du Plessis has become in rugby? Who constantly wants failures like De Jongh and one of the most disappointing players in 2015 - the paceless JP Pietersen - in the team?
You condemn Coetzee as "far too predictable...no fetch, no offload". What about Willem Alberts - who have been the top in predictability and has yet to learn what fetching in rugby means, while in the same time \being to slow to make tackles and costing his side dearly when he did play.
When you deride players you do not like one must know one thing - they are good enough to play test rugby as a threat to the bunnies you support.

Point is ever since I joined this site - you, have been constantly harping on players of the past and deriding present players. That is repetative and useless. No new ideas have ever come out of any posts of yours. No change of players and ratings - zero. That is what people find constantly boring and useless from a debating perspective.

So people find my material boring...so be it. But consider yours. You have started a whopping 20 of the active strings on this Board generating a feeble 9.8 responses per thread for a total of 196 responses. With 7 threads I generated 144 responses..for an average of 20.51 responses per thread.
So my boring posts generated more than twice the response per thread of your boring posts. I guess you are just more boring than me.....game, set and match.

Point well made Moz. Inconsistency, injury, inability to make the jump from S15 to test rugby are all massive hurdles.
I do think DeAllende has the best potential of any to become that 4th regular as he has shown some consistency now in his second year, has remained injury free but it has yet to be demonstrated that he can make that jump to test level. Certainly last year's efforts were not conclusive and if he is to find success it will be at 12 not 13.

Matey he is a clear cut candidate offensively....probably our most dangerous back. So it's disappointing to see him missing routine tackles and not leading the defence. But I think the good news is, unlike a player like JJ, he doesn't shy away from contact. I have also seen him make some authoritative tackles....so hopefully with coaching he will become a complete player.
This will of course be seized on as me being anti De Allende, and it's true I thought he wasn't ready last year. But this year his case is stronger, and without Jean, he has to be given a chance.

"This will of course be seized on as me being anti De Allende, and it's true I thought he wasn't ready last year"
There is something weird about the above sentence - it should read differently if your postings this year is borne in mind:-
This will of course be seized on as me being anti De Allende, and it's true since I have suggested that without Jean the no 12 position should go to Frans Steyn and the no 13 position should go to Juan de Jongh or perhaps as an alternative De Allende."

I wonder why the board's most prejudiced and deceitful liar conveniently disregards someone who has played 25 test matches since the last RWC including starting in the last 8 Springbok test matches on the trot? Not a regular? Pffffffffffhahahahaha!
Either Moffie is too stupid to recognize Marcell Coetzee as a regular or else - more likely - he's trying to pretend he hasn't got egg all over his fat face after he completely missed Coetzee's obvious talents and slagged him off as being a plodder . . . or it could be that the 23 year old Coetzee doesn't suit his stupid "experience" agenda?
Note that his question when he starts this thread has nothing to do with the quality of the player, it simply questions the number of tests played (which I assume is the measure of whether someone is a regular in the team or not) but here's the bumbling old fool pretending that Coetzee's 25 tests in 3 seasons (and 11 tests in 2014 alone . . . which forward other than Duane Vermeulen played more?) don't count and Coetzee is somehow not a regular because he supposedly doesn't fetch or offload.
LMAO!
And this same pompous half-wit is forever squealing in his typically sanctimonious manner about other people being selective or biased!

You should know Mozart has only one norm for supporting selection of players to the Springbok team and that is they should be over 30 years of age - the following being exceptions to the rule:-
* 29 year olds who will turn 30 this year; and* Frans Steyn and Juan de Jongh
He would claim support for Etzebeth as well - but the old liar has been trying to get rid of Etzebeth - without directly saying so. Bakkies Boiha was his first choice and he immediately indicated that Bakkies should take over at 4 and get rid of Etzebeth. When Matfield came back - the lock combination was to be in Mozart's book Matfield and Bakkies. his latest effort was Matfield and Flippie. So where does Etzebeth feature in Mozart's real support - NOWHERE.
His fight against younger players is relentless. When an older player is rated by the stooges as Player of the Week he immediately quote that one and splash it all over the site. When out of 14 matches De Allende got 7 nominations as no 12 of the week - Mozart ignores it. He recently attacked De Allende - whose defense was better than Steyn - for poor defense, while targeting others who pointed out Steyn's poor defense coupled to complete absence of any attacking abilities on the part of Steyn.
There are a couple of posters whose contributions are always deficient and misleading - the three worst one's being Mozart, Letsal and Ceradunce. They have there own perceptions and opinions - part of which is based on a total aversion of the performances of players they do not like - and those are virtually every younger player.

Conservative? He has tried nearly 10 outside centres alone! He has tried nearly 6 fullbacks, 5 fly-halves, many loosie combinations, several tight-heads. He is the farthest thing from conservative.

Saffex, something interesting just occurred to me. When Meyer started at the Bulls he identified a mountain of future stars and took the Bulls from the arse of the Super Rugby table, to Champions! He identified players like Du Preez, Matfield, Bakkies, Habana, Gurthro and a few others, early and they excelled massively under him. He is now viewed as uber conservative! I wonder what has changed with Meyer since those early days ? He obviously had a nose for young talent early on.

Mozart's refrain remains the same - Coetzee, Coetzee, Coetzee. Ass to that his praise songs of Morne and Frans Steyn - as well as De Jongh.
One can say that De Jongh is a double stain on our backline performances.
Last - but not least we have Letsal's refrain - Lambie, Lambie, Lambie, De Allende, De Allende, De Allende (on the negative side) and the same players according to him on the positive side.
One can say that De Jongh is a double stain on our backline performances.

The point is not about whether Coetzee is good enough - I certainly wouldn't waste any time debating the merits of Marcell Coetzee with a biased half-wit like Moffie - the point is he played in nearly every test in 2014 including the last 8 in a row. That makes him a regular, whatever the very stupid people think.

Coetzee is not a fetcher. He is feeble over the ball. A journeyman like Stegman would take him apart...Bismarck is way more effective. This is exactly the problem, he has no dominating skill, and certainly not adequate skills to play international open side against the worlds best.

Coetzee - Coetzee - Coetzee : The refrain goes on and on.
Now Bismarck has dominating skills. Should not ALL forwards have dominating skills?
Lets assume that be the case - what dominating skills do players who loaf through game after game - like Matfield and Alberts - have? Matfield is dominated by all opponents - even light weights 15 kgs lighter than him, and Alberts do not get near enough to play to dominate anybody - by the time he gets to breakdown points, the next breakdown 20 meters away is already in final stages of ball recovery.
This is a Mozart classic - the fact is that player slike Alberts and Matfield are in fact his favourites shows that he does not know what rugby really is about. He si totally unrealistic in his constant besottedness with age of players. He would never admit that players loose their competitiveness as they get older.
If players like Morne Steyn make balls-ups - some excuse will be dreamt up and produced as facts on this site. Constant disasters by the "geriatrics" he supports are covered with a veil of silence or blame is assigned to other players. The scapegoats are always the same - Coetzee, Reinach, Lambie, Serfontein, etc.
The real problems are ignored and augmented by constantly harping on players like Morne Steyn, Francois Steyn, De Jongh and co - who according to Mozert are going to solve our performance problems.
Selected players are not allowed to settle into positions because of constant floundering around by Meyer. He picks players and before they can really perform - they are dumped. An example is De Allende. He was picked to play in two tests - in both the forwards collapsed and the backs never saw decent balls. The one test was played in horrific weather conditions. He was not picked in his best position - ie 12 - and was then supposed to shine in the no 13 jersey, the first time he played in that position since his school days. Problem is in the first of those two games - he was the only backline player who showed anything of substance insofar as attacking play is concerned - the rest showed near to zero. In the second game he showed less - because he never saw the ball.
The fact remains - we have had virtually no team renewal since 2009 and that is biting us hard. Mozart persists in his constant harping on experience and wants -
* 6 of the starting line for the 2015 WC to be players from the 2007 WC;* 11 of the losing WC squad members in 2011 to be in the starting line-up in 2015.
Is that a recipe for disaster? it certainly is.

Bluebok, we are at that point where the older generation are being phased out and the new crop are being sifted. In terms of personnel it is the most vulnerable point a team can be in. Meyer has not been conservative, in all three seasons he made many bold decisions and blooded many players, but he is labelled as conservative because he doesn't want to build a completely new inexperienced team of babies that are struggling to cope at test level. Nearly every player the fans have called for have been duds, and when he gave in to the fans it cost him. Lets face it, our new generation are not great. We have too many fast, generic players that can't make any one position their own, or specialist s who are not as good as the oldies. Where are our Fouries, Du Preezs, Matfields, Bakkies, Schalks, Habanas et al? Nowhere. We still have only one proven tighthead, still have no proven test 13, are pandering around at 10 with fullbacks, new locks that are getting schooled by the old pros... the list goes on. But no, the media says we have so much talent, that everyone is good enough for test rugby. Meyer just isn't giving them a chance blah blah blah! I can tell you something, no other coach in the country could have kept the Boks so competitive under these conditions. Well, none other than Jake. By far the two most intelligent coaches in the country, among the very best in the world. Meyer is hundreds of thousand times the coach Dave is; coaching his obese children to the Pikachu Cup (maybe).
