The Board splits into various groups....
1) Social natterers ....the board's version of a ladies tea party.
2) Nasty attack dogs, who get their jollies trying to insult others
3) Selectors. Those who think rugby is all about selecting what they perceive to be the very best player for each position. And woe betide those who disagree.
4) Thinkers, p osters who are able to think and reach original conclusions about tactics and selection. Damn few of those left, Fox being one of them.

I have never come across such a poor rugby man - he is pathetically rugby ignorant.
Your take on players is a load of crap most of the time but at least there is some substance with your delivery.
There are a number of posters who are just lap dogs
DumbFox professes to know so much but knows nothing
No one can take a rugby person seriously who thinks de Allende lacks strength, that Kirchner is better than Willie, that Folau is poor, that Barry was better than Jean, that Morne is our best 10, that Flip is better than Lood.....but best of all Kurandrani is better than BOD
Moz and you think this clown has original conclusions when it comes to selections - you need your head checked bud

Then there are those who endlessly post articles most of us have already read....which I suppose gives them a sense of contributing.

Speaking of lying, Dave. Did I really say Kirchner was better than Willie? I think you will find I haven't, not since he cut out those horrendous errors. There were even those calling for him to be booted this year, I defended him. Kirchner is not a bad player though, but is not a playmaker like Willie. I have spoken at length about the importance of Willie as an extension of our 10, and thus one of our most important players.
I hadn't said Folau is poor. I did however say that he isn't the fastest 15 around and has been skinned on defence alot, some for tries. He also cannot kick, so if you catch him deep with a high ball and rush him he gets penned in. In the Perth test last year he set up a Bok lineout in or just outside the Wallaby 22 on five occasions. Dangerous territory against our maul. In 2013 he was turned over often or got isolated and fumbled passes. He was outplayed by Kirchner, plain and simple fact. Kirchner burned the Wallabies and Folau for a crucial try. Simples. This year he has not been playing well at all. He has bungled a lot of balls thus far. Even the media in Australia have raised concerns about this.
I also said that Damian is stronger in the legs than upper body. I stand by this and have presented more than enough evidence throughout the year to support that fact. You on the otherhand have been unable to reference anything.
Barry had and outstanding 2004 for the Boks on attack and defence. He got very little credit for his attacking play which was a key ingredient to our success. Great distribution, decision making in close quarters, use of the boot and robust defence. He played a more rounded game than Jean and the partnership with Joubert was truly exceptional.
I stand by what I said about Flip. Any player that can outplay his All Black counterparts every single time he has faced them deserves special recognition. The power he brought to the Boks in 2013's EOYT was like nothing I have seen before. He is a busier player than Lood as well, who can't last the full 80.
BOD was a great player, I have never questioned that. But for me personally, defence at 13 is priority number one. BOD liked to jump the line and was caught out more than you realize. Kuri seals off the edge expertly and his attack his highly intelligent. He has been lethal! Show me a test where BOD has damaged the Boks and NZ like Kuri has. You won't find it.
Morne is an outstanding 10. Better than Pollard? In a lot of ways yes. I said from Super rugby last year I don't have a problem with Pollard starting though. But I cautioned not having Morne on the bench. Look at how that turned out!!

No DumbFox we worked out some time ago that you are a low life liar.....telling the world I had Olivier ahead of Jean.
DA has more upper body strength than any other centres out there,
Barry was an insult of a centre.......as average as Barritt is for England.....all they can do is defend....offer nothing in attack.
BOD was one of if not the best 13 to play the game, him and Danie would have to fight that one out. His defence was awesome, but the mark of a good 13 is his finishing not his boring defence unless you are boringly conservative which you clearly are given your like for such boring players like Morne and Barry.......says it all really.
Your comments above reaffirm my pointers to Moz.....you are rugby ignorant
Morne better than Pollard......says it all

Mozart
From a rugby performance evaluation perspective DF should be straight-jacketed and put in a lunatic asylum.
Now for your categories of members:-
1,  Vurtally all member express opinions on issues that prop up occasionally on non-rugby issues.
2   You lead this category - with your cronies being close on your heels.  Attacks includes both players and other members
3    Sure - but those members who relies on reputation without regard to performers are problematic.
4.   very few members indeed belongs in this category - but those few does not include you and DF  - since reputation without performance plays a prominent role in what you write here has any reference to present rugby - it all is stuck in a time warp of about 8 to 10 years ago.   Thinkers would be objective and have grounds for their statements - non-thinkers make generalizastions and cannot prove what they say and are governed by prejudice.

When did I say I care about reputation? I went so far as to call for JP to be axed. I'm not a sentimental type. It's all about production. And speaking on straight jackets and lunatics, have you found it within yourself to admit that Damian took three steps back when Hooper smacked him like a sledgehammer? A perfect demonstration of bias, you firstly denied it ever happened and then the cherry on the cake: despite being identified in the press as having the worst defensive record in Super rugby and despite blowing the Aussie test and falling well short of the mark the rest of the year - USA aside - you still proclaim him the best inside centre in the world. Do you get it? Reputation ahead of performance!

 DF
De Allende did go one step back and then went forward in the tackle.  I never denied it happening and gave the correct description of what happened.  What you denied was that Hooper was off-side and the result was a penalty.
The worst defensive record was never mentioned in the press - contrary to what you state as such.   Not the worst defensive record in the WC either - that looks very much like belonging to Bastareaud and Kuridrani.   In the Super series there were fierce competition between Fransie and De Jongh as to who were the worst defenders.  De Jongh won by the shortest of short heads.
As for you - you always have a campaign against some payers and your take on player performances is based on fairy tales - nothing factual.

He took three! He went forward maybe to where he got tackled. What was the desired result? To crash into the seam and collapse the Aussie defensive line. That clearly didn't happen. Hooper tackled him long before poor Damian could even get there. It was like firing a missile at an old lady at a zebra crossing.

You persist with your rubbish and that is factual = we have yhad enough of your fairy tales on this site - but I suppose the supply is endless,   It would help if the descriptions you gave of incidents in matches are more accurate and is a real reflection as to what has happened - but that is hardly to be expected,.
Btter to be pals with a performing player than is the case pf Meyer and Matfield, causing the latter non-performer being in the Springbok squad.

Ity did not show three steps back - DF - definitely not.  Your ideas of three steps back is jyst too funny for words - what is even funnier is your denial that Hooper was off-side and the result was a converted penalty.    So what is new?  LMAO

Yet it was Barry who sparked our famous 40-26 win over the All Blacks at Ellis Park in 2004 by softening the NZ 10/12 channel with his aggressive running. The last truly fearsome tackler we had at 12, and a strong carrier.

I always rated Barry as a center - but Dave hated his guts.   He was a verys trong tackler and that cannot be denied.

Barry never did anything with ball in hand was utterly devoid of any creativity......was a crash ball specialist......he attacked contact and not space......your worst kind of centre. Was hardly the biggest centre around so was never going to make much of an impression taking the direct route.

Yes he could tackle, that is all he could do

A bog ordinary centre who could tackle. Not test material by any stretch
