Apt description. Bakkies himself said that Matfield was not always in the backline - but he was far too often missing from the forward battles and that means poor Bakkies had to do his work as well.
I have been following Matfield's performances for years and what irritated me most about him was his constant tendency to moonlight in the backline as a spare center - causing major problems for the real centers.
What amazes me is Mozart's claim that Matfield was the best lock ever - if he said he was the best lock moonlighting as a center ever I may agree with him - the best lock ever is a total misconception.
