It's high time it's realised that we can't effectively and consistently compete with Island nations unless we can match them in size, strength and power. We have the skill, we lack size, and we look like a bunch of schoolboys amongst giants. Until such time as we front up with some grunt we are going to be pushed off the ball, slip tackles and be beaten for pace and strength.

I have no problem admitting our 7s team was totally outplayed. It's just a pity NZ supporters can't be as objective about their undeserved RWC final win.

True. Just a pity the response was personal and vindictive as opposed to being objective.

NZers were bigger, better , stronger & deserved winners over our lil Blitzbokke .

Fact is our better players do not play sevens.

I am also surprised that folks argue we can match this lot with small backs. Small backs cannot hold guys of this size and speed. Hence the need for the 100kg backs like Frans, Jean and Jaques and sizeable wings close  to 100kg like Habana and JP.  Hence also the value of playing a Spies on the wing etc.

Only the most brilliant of small men can be considered and one dare not go too light. Need to win colissions and bring off bone jarring tackles as these guys lack heart when the heat is turned up. Play grougnd bullies really.

Great to see Boks who are not sore losers but objectively analyse their performance as sports lovers should.

Mozart, you use the word undeserved without an explanation as to what "deserve" means in this context.

How do you "deserve" or not deserve?

Nobody will deny the All Blacks have been certainties beaten, odds on favourites to win in recent past RWC's yet have stumbled over the favourtism tag as well as a better team on the day.

We won. Watch my lips. We beat all teams. We have never lost a game except the one's that put us out in the history of the RWC.

Is there any other team that can say that?

The RWC is not just one game, mate. It is a TOURNAMENT whereby a team must hold its form throughout many games. To say the All Blacks do not deserve to win is funny. We won. Kick along with it. You'll be a better man and player as we became by swallowing disappointment, sucking up the defeat and coming back to win, as we did..

Sponge, the term "deserve" as applied to a win, is common use. It looks to something beyond the mere score. For example when Okey Geffin kicked us to victory against the ABs in 49, many an AB fan claimed we didn't deserve our victory.

All we are saying is France ended that game the stronger team, and it seemed to experienced rugby fans that NZ was getting the marginal calls. Hence to many fair minded rugby fans.....you didn't deserve your victory. Reporters who had been sponging (forgive the term) off NZ hospitality were inclined to join the hoopla.....but those who watched things from afar, not influenced by the hysteria, saw a very unconvincing NZ performance.
