After all Smith made 10 centuries in ODI's at a strike rate of 80 in 197 ODI's played. De Kock only made 8 centuries at a strike rate of 87 in 51 ODI's. According to Mozart no competition here De Kock is utterly useless .

I ignored both the idiotic threads you posted over the last three months about De Kock and Miller because it was clear that your downright idiocy is not really what is needed on this site - logic is. For the rest I think that it depends on players to play through low points in their careers and prove themselves later on. Some players have had too many low points and that makes them vulnerable - De Kock and Miller never have been in the latter category.

Not really Humungous. Obviously anybody who plays for the Proteas has to be competent and has to have had big performances. But can they perform when the pressure is really on......for de Kock that means can he play express bowling .....and for Miller that means can he play a big innings when others are failing round him. So far there is no evidence of either of them doing that. So we will see the occasional big innings....but when you need them to come through, lookout.

Dave a good innings by de Kock at last.He is a class batsman but he does not deliver most times at the wicket, unfortunately.
Watched him at the WC and was disappointed with his batting.....he just did not deliver when needed.
Trust he will settle down and show us his class batting soon on a regular basis.
Also do u think he should open the innings or bat further down the order?

de Kock was out of form at the WC, had just come back from a lay off.
He is just too classy not to come good, which is exactly what he is doing right now.
At 21, he is still a baby, will get better and better.
Yes he should open in ODI's but bat down the order in Tests

I am not worried about De Kock at all. In the long run he will be tops. In ODI's he will with 51 games only surpassed Smith's number of centuries soon enough. As was remarked in discussions by Indian Commentator De Kock is a top class player. His record speaks for itself - he has had 8 centuries and 6 half-centuries in 50 ODI's.
I think that with experience he will even become a better player than he already is. What will grow rapidly is the amount he is paid to play IPL rugby. At present his income from that is circa R6 900 000 per year. After his latest performances that is likely to exceed R9 000 000 next year. The IPL is not about to pay that kind of money to a player they do not think worth his value. Good luck to the youngster.
