My game of the w/e was..

the Stormers vs Sharks, a high tempo game with the result hanging in the balance right up to the end. For almost all of the first half the Sharks dominated, the moral victory went  the way of the Stormers for holding them to a mere three point lead at the break.  I liked the positive attitude of the Sharks and I'd be surprised if they did not make the top six. Both these teams have improvement to come, specially the Sharks when they find settled combinations in their backline. Players who impressed were Kostner, Coetzee and  De Jongh. The Stormers have a huge weakness in preventing turnover ball at the breakdown and they would need to address the problem or face the consequence of defending a lot more.

It was a very messy game with lots of things that made me cringe, but the desperation and closeness of the fight made it very interesting to watch! In that regard I agree it was by far the most interesting game of the weekend. What strikes me is how much the Aussie and New Zealand games have been far less enjoyable. There's no passion or intensity like from the South African teams. It makes one wonder what this tournament would really be like without them.

What's wrong with your own women? But I get your drift. You were thinking of the passage in Conan where he envisioned the crushing of his enemy and the wailing of their women. I'm just not sure you chaps are up to it.

As if South Africa is not enough of a charity case, they participate in Super rugby to give these visitors a taste of the good life and this is the gratitude we receive! :p
