despite their demises...i'e always had the feeling...not really a feeling but an objective view...they set the standards of good balanced rugby...their backs have always been a few marks ahead, their forwards have never let the side down and as a whole can finish a game even at the 11th hour.

Seb,  stop speakink kak.  They have been the best side since 92 at best. Good side most of the time,  but they had their fair share of playing the 10 man game.  Don't buy into their running tugby at all cost BS of late.  It is simply not true.

With the ABs ALWAYS having a better win % over their history than any other team you can't really argue with Seb's statement! Before you all start, this includes pre-isolation.

Moolaa,  like I said,  always are always.  Not on average,  but always.  In a broader sense,  they should have been ranked nr. 1 from day one. Stricter sence would imply that they should have won all their games ever.  Semantics. We were better than you lot in 2009,  but I  suppose that's not included in always?  Oh yeh,  right,  we write the deffenition of the best,  like it suits us best. Boks are better than NZ in world cups. Not part of always either nè?  Always is when you say it is?  You betcha!   LMFAO!!!

Yes 09 was why your boys were #1 for a short while ,but historically the ABS have always had the best win/loss ratio against all teams combined ,they had a less than 50% margin against the boks for a while but even then they had a better overall percentage vis a vis all comers .Dont think the ABs have been less than #2 since rankings were introduced ? So will that shut you up beandork ya tool ? NZ have always had the better winning % against all teams combined and now all teams individually .Theres some facts for ya .

Poi-e I don't claim that's the AB's moto,  but the impression some supporters have,  especially Saffas, and that due to our boring kicking game. A total reverse is also not the answer.

 Sooo....Seb says...
.they set the standards of good balanced rugby

To which you reply...
Don't buy into their running tugby at all cost BS of late.  It is simply not true

I agree with you on one thing, it isn't true, the All Black's have never promoted such a game plan.  Do the All Black's like to attack wider channels? Of course they do, we have consistently produced try scoring outside backs but that doesn't equate playing 'running rugby at all costs'.
The All Black's play what's in front of them, if that means the option to run is on from the 22 to run, they instill in their players the belief and confidence to execute, if the kick's on, that'll happen.  So yes I do believe what Seb says, and you still haven't clarified who 'their' is in your sweeping generalisation above.

poi-e, thanks for that comment. I seem to have read too much into Sebs statement. Sorry Seb, I'm just so used to people thinking "balanced rugby" means running rugby only, that I assumed that's what you meant. Apologies for being harsh.  In most cases, the AB's kick more than their opponents, but it's clever kicks and when they take the ball through hands, it is done accurately and with purpose. The boks have different strengths and weaknesses, but from my recollection of the last 38 odd years of watching rugby, our kicking game has gone back quite a bit in the last 6 years. In 2009 we had some success with the kick and chase BS, but most teams have learned to counter that effectively but we still seem to give it a try every so often. If you have to kick, do so in a way that would at least give you a 50-50 chance of getting the ball back.

The only thing Sebastien is good at is lecturing us on the ways of righteousness ... not that he can adhere to it himself ... that is a discussion all on it's own.

Hypocritical Twat!!

It's best to ignore anything and everything this fool has to say about rugby.

The All Blacks are currently the best in the world.

It's only so since 1992.

Before that the true Springbok ruled the roost ... over everyone ... including the All Blacks.

This watered down "Zuma's Goats" is what the current regime has replaced the Boks with.

It doesn't qualify as our best.

You chumps know this but choose to ignore it.

Oh and Poissie - shut you friggin pie hole. The entire planet knows that you guys go around ravaging the islands for talent.

It's easy to dish out citizenship so that you can enhance you team.

If it were purely New Zealanders making up the All Blacks you'd probably find yourselves ranked around where the Samoans, Tongans and Fijians currently are.

I somehow doubt you'd see the top ten ... ever.

It's hilarious to think that you actually count them as New Zealanders.

Well one can go on and on and use excuses...the simple point is that they play the full game and are clever enough to adapt and counteract stereo type play...they read the game in most situations...they are not perfect and sometimes get fooled by the French who are the most unpredictable side in the world...a side that looses to Italy in the 6N and then takes out NZ in several world cups.

They play a thinking game "9 times out of 10" just a figure of speech.

I really enjoy watching them...they are sadly to us, masters of this lovely game and all true rugby lovers respect them.

Clean Cut, you've run off at the mouth without checking your facts. Prior to your well deserved isolation you will find that the ABs actually had a better win/loss % over all countries.Never let the truth get in the way of a good story.....Hasbeeno, like you, keeps insisting the Boks were No.1 but the stats tell us otherwise. Just accept it!!Cheers from the Pacific Isles!!

Moolaa ... it seems  you need to revisit your "facts" ...

From the 13th of August 1921 till the 12th of September 1981 ... we beat the All Blacks a total of 20 times ... lost 15 times to them and drew twice.

Apology accepted!!

From the 15th of August 1992 ... we have lost to the All Blacks 37 times, beaten them 15 times and drew once.

You needed the current regime to chalk up a better win loss ratio.

You should humble yourselves before the ANC and thank them for their contribution to New Zealand Rugby.  Without them you would still be lagging behind ... waaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind.

SIMPLY PUT ... SOUTH AFRICA IS THE BETTER RUGBY NATION.

Clean Cut, I'm not disputing that the Boks had a better win/loss % over the ABs pre-isolation. To clarify, the ABs had a better win/loss % vs all countries than any other nation. in other words we had a better record overall which surely ranks us as No.1.We've never lost to Scotland, Ireland or Argentina. At last check I think the Boks may have.... SOUTH AFRICA IS THE BETTER RUGBY NATION??? Embarrassing statement.Just remember that as the old saying goes, "you're only as good as your last 23 years"!

Moolaa ... Zuma's Goats are susceptible to losing test matches to anyone.

We've all seen that.

They've lost to Scotland and Argentina recently ... and word has it that Japan's been looked at as a possible threat ...

The Springboks on the other hand have not.

I'm not taking away anything that the Pacific Islands All Blacks have accomplished ... I'm merely pointing out that the Bokke of old were a darn site better than what you guys are making them out to be.

You know this.

Give credit where credit is due.

We ruled the roost. That is an undeniable fact.

Haaaaaaaaahahahahahahaaaa!!!! Can't say I've heard that saying before ... but anything to make you feel better about yourself, right?

Sadly I have to admit that my beloved Springboks have had to play second fiddle to them for to long.

The AB's are the better team for the last 23 years.  Fact.  The Bokke were not allowed a level playing field during this time.  Fact.  Would it have made a difference?  Who knows?  Funny how they except this situation without complaint?  Only logical explanation is that the current situation suits them.  But to make absolutely sure,  they were still wary enough to pull a Brycy on us in the previous RWC,  brave warriors that they are! Turning a blind eye to discrimination seems to be OK if it suits the overall agenda.... and if it protects your comfort zone,  why the hell bother?

...the only thing worth remembering is that the ABs are totally awesome and historically have consistently flattened the Boks ...ok , sorted

Brycy,  farcical like the 81 decider where your ref played injury time until you lot took the lead? Fact is  we haven't competed on a level playing field since 95.  Would our record have been better?  Probably.  Would we have been ahead of you lot?  Who knows? Probably not,  but we will never know now,  would we?  You lot are content with it,  even scared of what could happen if we are given a level playing field.  Why else would the rest of the world keep mum about what's been going on for the last 20 years? Chicken-shyt scared is the only logical explanation.

Of course New Zealand has always been able to select Maori players to send to South Africa right Draad?  Right Draad?  What was that about a level playing field?  And of course your local refs were always impartial right Draad?
The state of your rugby union has nothing to do with the All Black's, we've beaten the best of what you put in front of us. All you seem to do is make excuses, refs, politics blah blah blah, how about you're just not good enough?  You not even second fiddle to the All Blacks, you might not like it but that's the reality, don't get bitter, get better.

Excuses reign for them even before the first ball has been kicked at the RWC.I can't wait for Hasbeeno's reaction to the first penalty awarded against the Boks in England! Nice Draad!!!!!

Right on the head.

Notice how your last two posts are being ignored??

It doesn't matter to the Kiwis of this generation how they win ... we saw how they all celebrated Bismarcks "red card" ... cheating is acceptable to them, just as long as it brings victory.

There is no longer integrity or honour within their ranks. It's all about status.

It's a sad thing ... the Kiwis of old were tough, hard and fair. They showed that by putting rebel tours together ... taking all the flack for it ... all in an attempt to beat the best ... so that they could rightfully strut their stuff as top dog.

They tried and failed ... but at least they'd keep trying to dislodge us from the throne ... knowing full well who was king of the hill.

Well so we thought.

Now they prefer the disadvantages forced upon us. It's the only way they can discard their status as second best

Paper champions ... nothing more!!

Streuth I'd welcome it if I didn't believe Bok supporters wouldn't reach for excuse #27863 as soon as your raggedy rugby gets its ass handed to them by Wales or Ireland or some other poxy team the All Blacks haven't lost to.

What a lot of codswallop Draad, you're pretty much on record on this thread saying that we should acknowledge the SA political landscape when before we consider the All Blacks dominance of the professional era.  Like there should be an asterisk against every single win against the Boks that reads *the nasty ANC forced quota selections on us.

Keep dreaming, Poi-essy.

It's like Draad said ... the Bok ruled over all and sundry ... including over the Pacific Islands All Blacks.

An undeniable fact!

There's been a significant swing in favour of the Pacific Islands All Blacks win loss ratio since the political changes in this country.

Even a re-tarded backwater hick such as yourself should be-able to grasp the concept as to why!!

Surely??

On second thought that might be pushing it a bit.

Doesn't change the fact that it had a significant outcome in your favour and playing the so called better rugby had nothing to do with it.

Poooooie my good friend the esteemed Draad is only partially correct however given standards here I applaud his noble efforts!
There are a number of factors at play here.Above all we have the get the jarpy agenda playing itself out in the most nasty cheating way imaginable. Bryce lawrence and mcheat being standout performers. The Boks and Super  teams have been robbed of numerous games one after another loosing to inferior down under teams. Any hard rugby has the down under oaks squealing like stuck pigs! Witness Bissies excellent legal tackle on Dan - who was man enough to admit the tacklwas legitimate.
Next we have the quota system playing havoc with selections of players and coaches. Imagine for instance how the Boks would have domianted world rugby if Jake White had continued and not been repalced by the buffooon PDV. The failure to adopt the merit principle in Sa is very detrimental to all aspects of life.
Next we have the rand weakening to unprecedented levels causing even younger players to go overseas. Here I must compliment nz on not poaching Saffa forwards dispite their desparate need.

The above factors are beyond the control of Meyer or Sa coaches.
Then we have the fact there is no central contracting system to manage elite players. This issue is our fault but all Bok coaches suffer as a consequence.

Then there is a failure often to play the balanced beeno game. Not netball rugby ala nz but running rugby off good ball. We saw this year against OZ and Nz why we should do this. Fortunately things are changeing with the Bulle coming on board. Once WP geta backline we can joing the Lions Cheetahs and Bulle. The Sharks need to get this right. Again this is our fault and there can be no excuses.
The we have the vexed question of two many provinces diluting resources etc. Our fault again
We also have the problem of not appointing our best coaches. Where are White, Mallet, Rassie and Dr Venter?
Finally nothing has been done to address the large number of injuries each season. Identify the reasons and make some changes.
THERE IS NO WAYS NZ CAN COMPETE WITH US IF WE GOT OUR HOUSE IN ORDER. THE KIWIS LACK CONFIDENCE THEY CAN WIN BY FAIR MEANS SO HENCE THE CONSISTENTLY FOUL MEANS THEY TRY. WHO CAN DENY THIS!
A masterful summation by Beeno!
