Nee poepol, you chose to ignore the fact that Aus was absolutely below full strength (not on par as per their usual) in that particular test. Had you acknowledged that, you would have had to acknowledge that Goosen was shining in a below strength Aussie side and that does not suit your agenda. Now run along and find something else to talk crap about.

In any case, you couldn't figure out how to pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel.

Ahh I see that you have now lost the rugby issues and try to use lame political shit to try and make a comeback. How weak is that? Fok, but you are a laugh a minute jou onnosel soutpiel.

I don't think that you are stupid, though. I just believe that you have bad luck when thinking.

cwvdmerwe, I'm thinking you've forgotten the Goosen try that got disallowed. Australia, even at that time, were still a good team, they managed a good EOYT  and they beat SA in the first leg and pushed the AB's in the Bledisloe cup. Also if you use stats, I'm not going to believe then unless you reference the place where you got them as there's a huge chance that you've made them up. Might want to watch the Australia game again, Goosen was a wizard, I'll provide you a link if you want and a heads up that Goosen get's subbed somewhere near the 60th minute.
Don't worry guys, Sun-Tzu isn't fooling anyone except the people that have always been naive to the fact of Morne Steyn.

Vlag, because you and Dutchie declare that I have lost the rugby debate......I take it that your dumb words are gospel huh?

I know you Dutchies like a little chest beating........but this really does take the cake.

How on earth you can be stupid enough to declare that you have won this one is beyond me for any idiot who implies that an Oz side is of no real challenge is debate ending in itself

I dont think you Dutchies know exactly how stupid you are.

Yeah van I believe you were an anti apartheid activist as much as I believe Jim Morrison is still alive.........you epitomise a conservative Dutch prick.......and please dont ask me why......its blatantly obvious........but here is a hint 'English'

You have only been able to prove your level of prejudice. You clearly make assumptions based on language, culture and on a balance of probabilities, religion and race too. Placing people into your preconceived boxes based on a single aspect.

I am proud of my second language, and therefore will use it especially when dealing with a prejudiced prick like you... and I know it pisses you off.

Take a look at the YouTube Goosen tribute. Much of the action comes from his school days. There is the try where he hurt his shoulder, the long penalty a fabulous drop and the break vs Oz where he was  put away by Louw committing his marker.
Based just on that, the Goosen hype is paper thin.

Man watching that again reminds me just how good Goosen is.....a 10 who looks to attack and who asks questions of the defence.........with ball in hand you expect things to happen with this lad at 10.......there was so much attacking energy in that Bok backline that day.

He has a great eye for space.....either attacking it himself or putting player into space with great touches

So now we've heard that Goosen got the backline going. There are few specifics that I wan t to bring to light, viz. that Goosen was heralded for his ability to play flatter than Morné, that he could fix his man and create space and that he was a devastating runner ball-in-hand. In the following video we have every attacking movement involving the Goose. I would like you to pay particular attention to the defenders opposite Goosen and the advance of the defensive line upon the outside backs. Note how the drift progresses unchallenged and how deep Goosen is. No doubt some of his admirers will counter in saying he was just following orders; he does however play exactly the same way for the Cheetahs. The hallmark of their game not being Goosen's individual brilliance, but rather their work off the ball in supporting the ball-carrier, the involvement of their forwards in a very wide attack pattern and lots of deception at pace. When isolating the individual I just don't see any advantage playing Goosen instead of Morné, Lambie or Jantjies I'd even select Butch ahead of him. But, I'm not saying Goosen is good for nothing. The one successful break he did make (1/3 thus far) did demonstrate his open field running. I think he could be a fullback for the Boks. But that lad at the Sharks looks very promising indeed. My prediction: Goosen will not make it, by this time next year we will be talking of another rising star.

What that shows is just how good he is at getting his backs moving......as I said he either attacks space himself as he showed with his two breaks in that game or he puts his backs into space.........where he stands flat or deep is the call of the coach.......but he asks questions of the defence.........what the outside backs do with the ball is not down to him.........there is nothing more a 10 could do other than attack space yourself or distribute as Goosen did well in that game.

Modern test match defences are so structured, so I am not sure what you expect these outside backs to do once Goosen has passed the ball.......damn right that the defences will be in place to counter most attacks.......its called rugby!!!!!

Goosen was 100 times better in that game than Morne has EVER been for the Boks

Goosen has already made it......if he gets through the S15 injury free he will walk the Bok 10 starting spot as Meyer will have remembered the test above and exactly what this kid has to offer over the ponderous plodder who is Morne

When playing deep to get the ball wide, Goosen did nothing better than Morné; at best they were about the same. Goosen however never likes to operate close to the gainline, never fixes any defenders. He is a robot. As per depth, width? That's a key role of the flyhalf, he decides! Goosen did absolutely nothing. In fact, one break was good and another move where he got the ball out to Habana was initially good until that horrible high and slow pass. No Saffex, Goosen brought nothing to the table. His decision making was worse then that of Lambie and he had zero impact in all contact situations. Just another over- hyped, average kid.

Wrong, lying flat or deep is the call of the coach for goodness sake.........bloody hell that is obvious. Goosen brought plenty to that game as has been widely acknowledged.......he ignited his backs and he varied the depth at which he took the ball......take his first mini break where he was lying flat.........the difference between this kid and useless Morne is that he is able to attack space himself.......much like a Carter or Cooper do........thats what we want from our Bok 10.

If Goosen stays injury free he will go down as our best 10 since readmission.....his only challengers are Honnibal, Stransky and Butch......he will walk it

Goosen is not even remotely as useful as Cooper. Not that Cooper is anything to write home about either! Goosen flumped Saffex. Your 10 is a decision maker for a reason, and the alignment is his call. As I say he carried these things over from the Cheetahs. Goosen attacked with 3 runs and only 1 succeeded, that his test credentials thus far. And that one break was the result of a defender not doing his job and watching Louw get tackled, leaving the gap in the first place. How about those hospital passes to Taute? And of any successful attacking movement by the Boks? He simply wasn't a part of it. You are as desperate as Michael.

Its one thing to have marginal takes on players but yours are so extreme.....it is beyond comprehension that anyone can find favour in an ordinary player like Morne and discredit a class act like Goosen.

As for Cooper, he is just pure class.......I'd have Cooper with his hands tied behind his back ahead of a player like Morne

I di play rugby as a hooker - had a serious shoulder injury and had to stop playing when still young (at 21).   I did not participate in Mozart's silly discussion - because he had as per normal ulterior motives.   However, Saffex summed it up exactly  - you really have a massive and long way to go before you can assess properly rugby player performances.   So go and study the game and come back a sensible contributor - what you wro te here makes you look like a complete fool.

No-one rates Morne outside of the Bulls fraternity.......which of course includes Meyer........the Kiwi's dont.......my Pom mates scratch their heads at his inclusion.......he is not rated as a player at all.......he is highly rated as a kicker though......but that is where it ends

I couldn't care less about your mates or anyone else. I deal with the finer details, not perceptions or fanciful ideals. Goosen has been shown up as inferior, Lambie has been shown up as inferior. The Boks were fine last year with Morné who did the Boks good, something you stated was impossible before last season. Your extremes are letting you down. You have been well and truly routed. A little tip, if you find yourself in agreement with Michael, it's time to take a long hard look at yourself.

What evidence have you provided about Morne Steyn?  The  only thing positive about Morne is his kicking at goal.  For the rest he is a nondescript flyhalf - that has produced nothing of note in other formats of the game.   Morne is bad news for the team, since there is over-whelming evidence that he is instrumental in the dead backline syndrome that has bedevilled SA rugby for years.  With him around - the backline consist of 5 players who are there to ensure 15 players start in the game and to defend only.   His own defence is suspect as he constantly uses the wrong tackle technique.

His kicking game is seriously problematic as well and stemmed from poor decision making.  He has in the last six tests failed to find touch with 7 penalty kicks - he does not make decisions, but plays according to instructions and then do not know when to kick balls or when to pass balls.  There are oodles of examples of that one ranging from the commentators saying his kicks are BS - to the crowd booing him at PE - the fiasco in the Super 15 semi against the Brumbies (where his kicking  foul up cost the Bulls the game) - the Messam second try at Ellis Park - to name but a few.   There are many more - but I will stick with the above.

The sooner you stop ascribing qualities to Morne which is patently absent in Steyn -  the sooner people will start believing that you are objective and contributing valuable comments on this site.

WTF are you talking about? 7's? 10's? tough rugby? tag rugby?)  Morne is bad news for the team, since there is over-whelming evidence that he is instrumental in the dead backline syndrome that has bedevilled SA rugby for years. Why was his backline the most successful in terms of tries scored in the S14/S15 With him around - the backline consist of 5 players who are there to ensure 15 players start in the game and to defend only.   His own defence is suspect as he constantly uses the wrong tackle technique. The wrap-tackle is used for a very specific reason

His kicking game is seriously problematic as well and stemmed from poor decision making. Hahaha! You and Saffex are the ones who are so obsessing about a single player, that just about every thread about any flyhalf, turns into a tirade about Morne. And it is for that reason the both of you are such EASY TARGETS to so many of the others . And to TRY and cover your arses, you try to create the impression that others aren't objective or don't add value...

Neither one of you two have added any value in any case. All the two of you bitch and moan about is Morne and in your case we can add "sloth" Alberts and Frans Steyn. From that I gather that "Willem Steyn" probably stole your girlfriend/wife?
