I was standing outside supervising the gardeners clearing up the garden when an elderly gentleman greeted me and started talking.  It turned out to be Max Baise - who was a test referee in the 1970's.   Maybe some of you will remember him.
We had a long chat - he was a friend of my parents and he told me he thought he was the only Jewish resident in Riversdale.  I then said wrong - there is a Jewish lady who is destitute who is staying free of charge in the flat on my site and whom I am living some money each month to help her.   In exchange she does home work and cooking for me.

The skunk is you, mate. Pay the lady a living wage and charge her rent. What you are doing boils down to slave labour and exploitation. I am serious.

I am sick of this.  The skunks wants me to push a destitute person onto the street with nowhere to live.  This shows you what to expect from them - absolute heartless and useless bloody lice.    That there can be people like them on this earth explains many of the problems the world face.  They have done nothing in their life for the benefit of less - fortunate people and is the type of people really exploiting others.
Best advice - go and hide your empty heads in shame.

Then stop patting yourself on the back Perv.....let your charity be a quiet thing, not an opportunity to beat your chest.

Your charity is about on a par with your sympathy for Frans.....stated to make yourself look good and then later on the very same day you denigrate him as fat Frans.

I see through you mate.

Uhmmm and you know that I have done nothing in my life, for others. You are rationalising mate. You were fishing for another pat on the back and instead you got yourself exposed who thinks nothing of making misuse of another's predicament. I have not said that you should have abandoned her. Read what I have said again. I said pay her a living wage and then charge her rent. What you are doing is humiliating. You are reducing her to a slave in cheap labour without dignity.
I am not saying that you should pay her X amount and then take that same amount as rent. Pay her for her labour and then deduct an amount for her rent. That's what I would have done. There is no dignity in having to be someone's domestic servant just for shelter.

Ceradunce
She does not pay rent - she never repays me anything.    I pay for part of her food, all services, television costs, medical costs  and give here a pocket money allowance of R1 000 per month.  That is all I as a pensioner can afford - but that in fact has nothing to do with you.

Mike,  good on you for helping someone.  At worst, you can be accused of being a bit too proud about it and wanting to boast about it a bit.  No shame in that,  after numerous attempts to ridicule you on this site.  It seems like a bit of a big jump to lable it as exploitation without knowing all the facts.  That should be clear to most readers.  Don't go into any more details to explain yourself,  it's not needed.
Tell us more about Max.  I'll Google him later.

Mozart is the only one who is really self-promoting himself - a week or so ago he said he was busy because he was going golfing and then a hundred people is coming to see his garden.  He talks about his cars, his taste in expensive whiskey and foods - but never once mentioned anything he has done for less-privileged people.
I don't brag about worldly possessions or anything like that.  One is on earth to do the bidding of the Lord - do unto others as you want others to do unto you.   I have helped many people many times, but is constantly accused on this site by the same people who shamelessly accused me of exploiting somebody I am trying to help.   That is the mildest of their constant attacks on me - lately it is stated repeatedly as being a pervert.
It is sickening that people can go that low.   The only thing I posted was that Max Baise came to my house and we had a chat also about him being a test referee in the 1970's and he then said he is nowadays the only Jewish person living in Riversdale - and I said no he is wrong - there is a destitute Jewish lady I m trying to help staying in a flat on the site as well.
I said what we were discussing since I thought their may be members of the site that can remember Max reffing I think 11 tests involving the Springboks in the 1970's.  That is when the dirt started shouting exploitation.   (Perv adds exploitation to his list of charms}.   He was soon joined by Ceradyne   with the same kind of BS.
Fact is one wonders about those two - how hate-filled can they be because one differs from them?  Are they the governors of this site and one must always meekly  accept what they say?   If otherwise you are subjected to the most vicious personal attacks imaginable.

Mike fools no one,  but neither does his critics.  Bullies  normally target's those with failings,  and it seems that it's the case here as well... but strangely it seems out of character for those constantly  jumping on Mike. Looks like a big spoof to me,  but I  know that's not it.  Mike looking to play the man more often than not is the main reason,  but it's getting nastier by the day...Ah,  well,  at least it's not too dull,  better than Dave's weight problems I suppose.

Oh good Draad, for a moment I thought you were being taken in by the humble man. The main reason, as you put it,  is Mike's a fake. This story came out within hours of him being exposed for ranting about "Fat Fransie" when he had gone all gushy ealier about the sad Steyn family tragedy.

Ask yourself this, could anybody who had an ounce of sympathy for Frans have called him "Fat Fransie" on the  day of his brother's demise?

This story is designed to negate the criticism and seems to have worked very well. By the way charity in the States doesn't qualify for a tax deduction if services were rendered of equal value.

Well, "Fat Fransie" is a term of dearness on this site, started by Sharkbok. Lets not get carried away here. It's not as if Fransie was looking on at the proceedings. Like I said, Mike has his failings, but some of the criticism seems a bit harsh...sometimes.

PS, Dave, I know you are neither a fatty n or a baldie, BUT, I'm taller and have more hair than you....might be "fatterer" as well, despite my success in shedding 10 kg's so far this year.

I love this promotion of Michael as this lovable little scamp that we ought not be "mean" to. It's absurd to say the least! He is vicious and never shy to deal a low blow, foul mouthed to boot. Maybe I should using Michael's words against Draad and see how endearing it all is. It's easy to turn a blind eye to a bully boy when you aren't in the firing line, utterly ridiculous to defend them when they poke the bear with a stick and get mauled.

Draad, if Michael pressuring the mod to remove members isn't vile then I don't know what is. Or calling other members en mass to turn on or ignore other members? Then there is calling out other members with vile personal attacks. This is not the affable Community Grandpa he is being made out to be. Not by the longest of shots. And if I went over the top in my estimation of your defence of him then I apologize, b ut overall too much defence of him. As I said, noone had a problem with his Rooi and CC tag team. Something even more aggressive than anything that I saw on SS. That kind of hypocrisy I do not abide by.

Mike, on a more serious note: Don't broadcast too widely how and what you are doing. You must have first hand experience of our government and be careful they don't hold you responsible for paying UIF to them as well as declaring to the Receiver any benefits from these actions.

 OK
This is one of the items that should not have cropped up p but it did.
First of all - I am not going to be as nasty as some - but there is one thing that came out of the above that is a reflection of the writer himself:-
"HasBeen I have always regarded Mike as one of our more stupid posters. But by definition, he can't be as stupid as those he fools."

The most stupid people in the world are those who refuse to move with the times and get stuck in the past.  Those who believe that nothing change in a decade in an ever-changing world.  In a rugby sense that means that because a player was good in 2007 he is automatically still good in 2015.   It also means that  they deny that aging does play a role in performance of players on the field of play in contact sport.   What we have here is deliberate ignorance and that is where the whole issue on this site becomes a serious reflection on the people who can be regarded as time warp idiots.
When anybody differs from them he becomes the person they regard as stupid.  When anybody ask them to provide examples of their wild claims - it becomes an absurd situation of stuck in the past claims of ignorance.   That remains the facts of life on this site - when you differ from them they become vicious.
Wardad
Max Baise never refereed a game involving the All Blacks - the following is the tests he was the referee:-
"Max refereed his first test when the Springboks played France in 1967 and refereed seven Tests altogether - SA vs France (2), South Africa vs Lions in 1968 (2) South Africa vs Lions in 1974 (2) and South Africa vs Australia in 1969"
I cannot remember who refereed the 1976 test you referred to - what I can remember is the one test that was played in New Zealand - where the main function of a player called Skinner - I believe an ex-boxer - was to use his fists as his only weapon and hit out indiscriminately at  everyone and was never penalized by the NZ referee.   So there was more to it than just having home-grown referees - they all refereed to favour the home teams, whether in SA or in NZ.

Actually Michael, stupid is not a word I use very often. But you expose a few key issues in your post. Nobody is judging players by past standards, certainly I cannot recall any of the wider spectra of posters doing so. You are rationalizing instead of listening. You did it right in the beginning of your last post! I have detailed quite extensively why I believe what I do, and have asked my critics questions. I have provided the platform not only for them, you especially, to express their views but to have a clean shot at taking on my side of the argument. Just look at all of the summary threads I posted, in each and every one of them you start off with a personal attack! In very few instances have you ever been able to debate. You have absolutely no grounds to lobby the view that you are mercilessly hounded and we are the pitchfork wielding idiots who cannot grasp your esoteric and futuristic teachings. It just isn't going to happen. You need to do your homework and sharpen your debating skills and show some honesty! If not for others, then for your own integrity. You wanted to get personal initially, well you bit off more than you can chew so here we are. I have disagreed with Moz and Ceradyne on many issues in the past, and disagree with Draad on inside centre. Where is the animosity? It just isn't there. The trouble always arises when the over emotional quartet of Dave, Rooi, CC and yourself arrive on the scene, and no surprises, that is where the foul mouthed section of posts stem from. It's not about thinking differently, it's how you conduct yourself while doing so! That's the lesson for the day.
