Showed exactly what this kid and Goosen have to offer over the ponderous Morne - case closed

I am a fan of Jantjies but believe that he should not believe in the hype surrounding him but remain grounded - he starts treading on dangerous ground when starts believing that he is the finished product.

Morne has nothing to fear in Jantjies.

Meyer will take the conservative approach initially and select the ponderous Steyn at 10, but the quality of Jantjies and Goosen will soon force his hand and Morne's days as a test flyhalf will be history. I give the average Steyn less than 10 test in the months to come and he would be history.

If it was up to me he would never start another test unless Jantjies, Goosen and Lambie were injured.

Wrong Moz, Jantjies beat a back and showed class in that break - something good old Morne can only dream of

Goosen is more in the mould of Morne and the rest are simply substandard. Why would Meyer select Jantjies when he cannot even win a terrirorial battle? One of the most basic fuundamentals of a ten, especially at test level! Then there is the physical battle; something that ou Janjties stands no hope of coping with. The memories of that annihilation against the Barbarians still looms. Jantjies is a poor man's Spencer, and not even the flamboyant All Blacks could find a place for him!

Man your take on rugby and players in particular is pretty warped. Goosen in the mould of Morne - man oh man you are either stupid or blind or seen very little of Goosen. Goosen is an attacking 10 with a huge boot on him, he is so far from the ponderous Morne mould its scary.

But its hardly surprising that this is your take on Goosen - hell you think Bismark and Jean are poor players - need I say anymore?

How did Jantjies lose a territorial battle, next you will be telling me the Canes 10 did a better job than Jantjies??? Has Jantjies failed physically in the two matches he has played this year - NO, so stop speaking crap.

Morne's days are numbered, these two young kids are twice the flyhalves he could ever wish to be. As my Pom mate said yesterday watching the Bulls - how the hell has Morne won a cap for the Boks given how damn average he is - did he play on Sat - all I saw him do was pull Johnson's hair like a pathetic yellowbelly.

Morne was close to being dropped by PDV, he has no chance in hell of competing against real talents like Jantjies, Goosen and Lambie - its going to be bye bye Morne soon and the sooner the better - for only then will we start win tests on a regular basis - Meyer will learn it the hard way.

Morne was close to being dropped because Peter gets his coaching lessons from Keo. I already emphatically exposed Lambie's performances last year, if you'd like I can repost the analysis. Please explain to me how Jantjies played a strong territorial game with 7 and 4 kicks in his first two games?

Lambie has never been exposed, the kid is pure quality.

Jantjies does not play a kicking game, he plays a running game and his backs gain territory by running the ball and keeping possession - when he does kick, he kicks damn well.

Morne kicks the crap out of it, conceding possession and you qualify that as territorial gain? One cant even begin to compare the outcomes of the matches these two play in. Morne plays for a strong Bulls side, Jantjies plays for an average Lions side. This in itself makes Jantjies showings that more impressive. He has been one of the best players on the field in both the matches he played. Morne did sweet stuff all in the match against the Cheetahs - did he play?

Morne was outstanding. Jantjies though cost his side victory with very poor mistakes. About sums it up really.

Hahahahahahahah - outstanding was he, doing what exactly - please elaborate and dont make it up? Jantjies shone and everyone has acknowledged that - Morne did squat, he was a non entity in a 50 point game - unless you count his kicking for poles as a major plus factor. Morne is a ponderous plodder who has no rugby talent at all bar a good boot - he is as boring as shit - an awful conservative player, the kind of player the Poms love in their side - not a single creative/flair bone in his body.

Hell if the lad could not kick for poles, he would not be playing club rugby in SA - he is utterly useless

The point is, world class flyhalves make world class decisions. With minutes left to play Jantjies' hospital pass to a player about to get clobbered was a disastrous decision. It was time to shut the game down.....he didn't and the Lions turned the ball over, losing to  a team they had largely outplayed. An amateur mistake.

Ah so lets select Morne because he would not have made that pass - talk about conservative thinking and you wonder why we are ranked at 4 these days. Jantjies is 21 for crying out loud, he is going to make the odd mistake - less and less as time goes by - he is certainly making less mistakes than this time last year.

I dont recall anything coming of his poor pass - but I might be wrong - it was not an ambitious long pass or anything like that, it was just a poor pass to his right - passing is certainly a strength of his, but hey that one went wrong - I can live with that for his many positives far outweigh the odd negative - whereas Morne offers nothing bar a handy boot

Jantjies is like a mindless drone. He cannot sum up the game, make educated decisions, cannot win a territorial battle, and just happily passes for the sake of it. He cost his side the game and this mentality will not change, it's becoming more entrenched in him by Spencer and the ignorant media.

I agree with Saffex, Morne has nothing but a handy boot. We need more exciting players like Janties and Goosen at 10. If Janties played for bulls you would be surprised about how many tries would be scored if Morne isnt at 10. der Aristokrat think about that.

Sadly Linebreaker having posted with Saffex for 10 or more years, I know he is seldom right, but never uncertain. As for your views on Jantjies versus Morne....a name like "linebreaker" rather tips your hand.

LineBreaker, think about this; The Bulls have already achieved the best attacking performance in a single season WITH Morne at 10. How about the Lions? Where are they on the log now? Morne guided the Bulls through the guppy tank, yet Jantjies misfired his dominant team out of a game against inferior opposition. Your prescribed model for "exciting and ultra-awesome backplay" is a proven blueprint for failure.

Welcome to the board though. I'm sure we'll tussle again very soon ;)

Linebreaker stick with me, these conservative lads will lose this one. Morne's days are numbered - the talent in Jantjies and Goosen will be a stretch too far for the talentless Morne to contain. My slight concern is that Meyer is a bit of a conservative chappie himself and he will probably stick with Morne and we might find ourselves step up to the number 3 spot in the rankings - I hope I am wrong

No Dave for once you are totally right....no way Meyer is going to trust his early test career to anybody except Morne.....and he too, will be totally right.

Oh without doubt he will select Morne, he has already said that he will start with the tried and tested and then bring the youngsters in.......one of those will be Jantjies or Goosen for Morne within 12 months I reckon

Mark my words, Meyer will never place these clowns ahead of Morne! Furthermore, any gametime spent on any other pretender will backfire in Meyer's face. Unlike Bleater dom Failures, he will not persist with such nonsense.

Meyer will choose Morne. Reasons are that Hougaard will be the scrummie and they will be a pair operating in a successfyul Bulle side. Bulle will do a lot better than either the lions or Cheethas. Unfortunately it take too much nous to discount this factor. Morne possibly is better tactically than the other two but not by much. Some of Goosens line kicking was fantastic and he kicks the ball a long way.

If Meyer senses these two youngsters can dictate a game as well as Morne the fun begins. However no matter how well Gooses or Elton play if their side keeps losing and the bulle keep wining its all to no avail. Folk simply cannot take int oaccount how much more difficult it is to shnme in a loosing side. Nor do they take into account how playing in a winning team gives a flase gloss to some players - eg wee victoria.

Lambie is possibly dipping slightly below Goosen and Elton righy now but that could easily change.  Goosen and Elton should get some test time against lesser sides, or time off the bench. A decision needs to be made re Lambie with the Boks needs being the priority.  Ditto Frans Steyn. Where is he?

We have three young flyhalves and also Sias Ebersohn in the picture.
