Rooinek who accuses others of driving Cruz away said this:

Status: Bok regular
February 05, 2014, 07:45:38While there are one or two valid points raised - particularly regarding Tomas' excellent English and his apparent unwillingness to confirm anything on Facebook - I certainly don't think some bloke phoning a mate in Hamilton who allegedly knows someone who might know Tomas constitutes conclusive proof that OleCruz is not Tomas Lavanini.

As I said earlier on this thread, if it is someone just pretending to be him then he's gone to an almost unbelievable amount of effort and research.

If it is some impostor then he can't have much of a life . . . but he was a top class rugby poster.

If it's the real Tomas then I find it a bit sad that he's been hounded off the board just because his English is excellent and he doesn't want to accept a friend invite on Facebook.

OK - Lets summarise this one

Ole Cruz claimed he was Tomas and he may have taken all of us foir a ride in that regard.  However - whenever he made a rugby contribution on this site ut was more insightful than what we generally see on this site.

It doesnt sound to me as if they were convinced he was Cruz....in fact it sounds like they were hedging their bets. Now all of a sudden they were these loyal supporters.
Poie led the charge on this and several posters, myself included felt the weight of evidence was against Cruz being Tomas. I still believe that. But one or two posts aside, it was a civilly pursued topic.

This revisionism is a bit rich and dishonest.

Well I might be naive but I never doubted his integrity...sure we live in a world full of deception, falseness and with a lot of psychos as well as harmless Walter Mitty's...who are rather sad characters.

Ole Cruz is certainly not one of them...what's the point...at that stage no one had knowledge of Tomas Lavanini...who he was...an apprentice with the Chiefs and his future as a potential Puma.

Tomas has done well and looks to become one of the best locks in the business of rugger in  next few years.

A lot of you don't understand Argentinians...they are very proud but approachable people and certainly not bull dusters...they are indeed very likeable people but are sensitive and don't take easily to fools or small minded people...that you can b e very sure of...

Any way , I doubt if Tomas would now ever be bothered to even read this forum comments.

I also feel sure that our moderator/editor knows this truth and would not have entertained this if Ole Cruz was indeed an imposter.

". . . and don't take easily to fools or small minded people..."
Indeed, as was proved conclusively on this board.
The behaviour of those demanding Tomas's credentials and bona fides was disgusting. Has anyone else on this board ever had to prove their real identity?
No, I don't think so . . . and now we've lost an actual test player with great insights but we're stuck with a pompous, deceitful and self-important buffoon who doesn't even know what number the various positions wear. Talk about getting the short end of the stick!
Oh and SubstantialBull, for the record, the moderator told us that Tomas was genuine. I see the manipulative and conceited old windbag conveniently overlooked that little detail.

Ja ...that's spot on...also I conclude that Ole Cruz NEVER volunteered his identity at all and was typically reticent (Latin American tendancy) to advertise his name and it was only after being requested, if not badgered to identify himself, he relented.

All I can say this lot would make a terrible jury in the USA courts...crumbs you lot would send an innocent man to the chair.

Oh really...nobody had to prove who they are. I can recall when I had to prove who I was..and the AAS has still not apologized. Nobody asked Cruz to go , they were just a little sceptical he was Tomas... .which was actually a compliment to Tomas. After that a lot of posters were involved including Mike and Roooinek as the posts above demonstrate.

Well you have become something of a fawning lickspittle, Draad. Are you running against Dense for the role of Alpha Gimp?
Anyway, your memory sucks. Moffie and Poi-e hounded Tomas off the board with their persistent demands for his personal details. He refused politely but they didn't let up so he left. In the case of your new master, it was because he'd jumped on the "Ole-Cruz-is-a-fake" bandwagon and we all know the obsessive and childish lengths that Moffie goes to to try and pretend he's right about everything . . . well, maybe you don't see it . . . because you've plunged your snout so far up his fat arse.
Whatever lies Moffie comes up with to cover his disgraceful behaviour, his childishness and self-importance cost us a valuable contributor.

Oh please man, your calling out of ABasque as "bitter" for a harmless comment a few weeks ago while turning a blind eye to Moffie's years (literally) of spiteful vitriol aimed at Dave and ou Maaik tells me all I need to know about your allegiances.
I think Bokshark made mention of the fact that recently, whenever anyone criticises Moffie you're there in a flash, brown-nosing up to Moffie in the most sycophantic and grovelling manner imagineable. Sadly, I have to agree with him. I mean, just look at this thread . . .

Another reference to jobs and career. Cant get a point across without constant referencing to money.
Constant references to the environment, and man having no effect.
-The hole in Ozone Layer created itself-Fish containing metal poisoning etc, done it to themselves.
Trying to disprove theories made by NASA and other leading scientific minds in the world- with the findings of two Christian school teachers.
Perhaps a benefactor of toxic dumping and unethical environmental waist disposal.......?

Your above quotes are very selective and you quote one thing which I did say and a lot of things I said is not quoted in that case.   In the meantime your own comments at the time is never quoted.   In any event that one thing I said was AFTER the anti-Cruz campaign AND AFTER Cruz left the site.    Why not quote your own comments when the anti-Cruz campaign - let by the stink called poi-e and actively supported by some members (you included) - was going on?
Sorry - but you are not being straightforward in this case.

I am not registered fro Twitter. pooooie how about you or someone who is inviting Thomas back. If he denies posting here then it settles matters.
Identity theft is no small thing. Cruz vehemently insisted he was Thomas. When asked to verify this in a very easy manner he flounced off. Strong chances are he wasnt Thomas. I have doubts as to how effective Admin's verification process was.
Pity
Rooitwit you had as much doubt as most re Cruz. No more revisionism please oak!

Ole Cruz had me sold. What good reason would an impostor have to pretend he was an unknown under 20 from Argentina? Also, when he first started posting he had great insight into the team structures and other information that was not reported on. It was nothing top secret or anything, just information about team dynamics that would only be known to someone very close to the team.  On top of that, he informed us here about his involvement at the Chiefs, long before the Chiefs fans here even knew he was in New Zealand .
I'd love for him to come back, because he offered great insight into international rugby. Also, just on him speaking English very well, I can't remember the exact details, but he did explain that he had spent a lot of time in Cape Town, and unless my memory has failed me, that is where he was educated.

"Rooitwit you had as much doubt as most re Cruz."

Rubbish Baboon-ou. Just because your manipulative and fork-tongued master is quoting me out of context doesn't mean I didn't support Tomas all the way. The quote above is not me expressing any doubts about Tomas, it's me replying to the likes of Poi-e who were talking about his excellent English and his refusal to confirm anything via Facebook.

Seriously, I know you're a phenomenally stupid person but even to a dribbling half-wit like you, do my quoted comments above sound like they're from someone who questions Tomas's authenticity?

Find me the post where I question whether Ole Cruz is in fact Tomas or not . . . not where I'm answering his skeptics and trying to explain to them why they're wrong about him.

Did you get that all, Baboon-ou? Sorry if I made your brain hurt . . . run along now.

Poi-e, thanks, I'll be interested to know what transpires but this thread isn't so much about whether Tomas is Ole Cruz or not, it's about who believed him and who didn't.

I think all my comments on the matter show quite clearly (to any intelligent person anyway) that I was among the believers. Let's see Moffie and Baboon-ou find some examples to the contrary. The burden of proof lies with them . . . and if the best they've got are those comments of mine quoted at the top of this thread then they should rather start wiping all the egg off their stupid faces now.

People can decide for themselves. Here is the thread Moffie is selectively quoting from. Anyone reading that thread who thinks I'm one of those casting doubt on Tomas is a fool (in Baboon-ou's case) or a manipulative and opportunistic liar (as in Moffie's case).

It's as simple as that.

By the way, that thread also contains Tomas' last ever post and his reasons for leaving. It also shows where Moffie says he believes Ole Cruz is Tomas followed by a sudden back track after moola's flimsy "evidence" and finally it shows the Admin confirming who Tomas was . . . so that thread pretty much clears up everything regarding this matter. Of course, that's if you read the whole thread in context rather than selectively quoting the bits that you think might suit your argument . . . which in turn backfire on you! LMAO!

"Hi Ruckers

We've been following this post in the background with some curiosity.
We decided to make use of our resources to try and get some truth out of the matter.

Whilst we may not divulge too much information we have it on good authority, and some factual information that we do (or did until recently) indeed have an Argentinian international rugby player posting on the Ruckers Forum.

I hope that this clears up the matter.

Have a great weekend!

Actually it was more than one geographical area that Thomas the poster happened to be in at the same time the Argies were in that geographical area - geographical areas being Argentina, SA, Oz and NZ......its either a massive coincidence that Thomas happened to be is the same location as the Argie team on 4 different continents or surprise, surprise....the lad was who he said he was.

I'll go with the Ed's take on this one.

No baloney, we know the internet address corresponded with team locations....no more than that, unless I'm missing some additional data.

So as I see it we have one report that says Tomas can hardly speak English....which would suggest Ole is a different person.

Another which places Ole's e mail in the locations the team visited.

I'd say it's about 50/50 at this point. I mean in identity theft terms this would be a snap. So while there has been a rush to judgement, followed by the usual petty attacks on posters who aren't persuad ed....show me real proof.
