You misread everything I said and then went bananas about what I said.  I clearly stated that the Springboks can expect adverse and poor decisions decisions - hence they must be extra-careful not to provide reasons for such decisions.
Neither Matfield on Saturday nor Rossouw in the 20'11 WC avoided the circumstances making adverse decisions possible.  They in fact contributed to the circumstances through stupid actions on their part.

The worst thing Meyer did iro of his selections were to take players like Matfield, Alberts and De Villiers to the WC.  The latter two was not match fit -  De Villiers had minimal game time after injury - Alberts was injured and never use as a starter and Matfield was also injured - after being virtually out of rugby since the end of May - when he was in fact poor for the Bulls,
The end result was that in the case of the locks there were no way that either Etzebeth or De Jager could be rested during the tournament.   Fact is that De Jager and Etzebeth had only one game each - early in the tournament - where they were not the starting locks.   Meyer would not play Du Toit because of the foul-up against Japan - every game thereafter was the equivalent of a must-win game.
The two locks were worked to death because Meyer would not play Du Toit as a starting lock and  Matfield was a hopeless case - injured half of the time.   The two players played well considering the 7 test matches in 7 weeks they were involved in.  Proper locks like Du Plessis or Willemse would not have caused the same problem.
You cannot take hospital ward cases to the WC and hope the players would play themselves into match-fitness - it just would not happen.   All three was in that category and that was part of a major problem.  Of the other players who were "hospital ward cases" Vermeulen was the only one who did really well.  Du Preezz was at best average (he did well in his first game and faded out in the later games.
The problem all along was with the original squad selection and the balls-up the most experienced Springbok team in history made in the game against the Japanese just complicated the situation further.

Mike I agree with all you say bar one ppoint. You cant blame paleyrs for ref mistakes. Either matfield made a mistake or he didnt.  Imagine trying to play the game so carefully just in case you might give a bent ref  the slightest excuse to pinging you.
The case rests and falls on whther matfiled actually did something wrong. Secondary is why he tried to assert himslef like that. The latter point I am sure you will agree I explained fully as one who understands the troubled wee matfiled!
Matfield should never have been in te squad. Wilelmse should.Next Kolisi should never have been in the squad. kriel should. Trevor never should have been in the sqaud Kitshof should. Kirchener, Paige shoiuld never etc etc. Our squad selection was hampered by quotas and silly selections like matfiled wetc. Our dom rugby also sucked.
A great pity was the injury to Marcell Coetzee.
We ended up with a squad far from our best and a coach insisting we play dom rugby. Yet we lost to the "great" wee abs by 2 points on the basis of a dubious reversed penalty. Now some half wits want to tell us this wee abs side is great!!!! Bwahahhahahahaha hilarious stuff from the buffoons and kbbs in particular! It' s what makes rugby forums such funny/weird places. Not to mention dimwits like ou rootiwit the witless!

I agree with Blob, all of our locks....Etzebeth, Lomp and Victor were outplayed by their NZ counterparts. Not for the first time our pack didn't front as expected....our locks were supposed to be the best. Win the lock contest we play in the final.

And by the way, contrary to Carbuncle's comments....I don't challenge NZ being in the final. They were by far the better team....I challenge a bent TMO call.

 Mozart
Retallick could not have been in every team of the week - he was not playing every week - so what BS are being spread here again?   The same story all the time - falsified disinformation.

Your pure unbelievable thickness is only exceeded by your misplaced self confidence. There are many Teams of the Week....selected by different media organizations. He was in every one last one of them last week.  Comprende? Or did you think there was one announced from on high......bwaaaaaaaahahaha.

By the way - this is not about the standard diversion tactics - it is about fact.  The thread was about Matfield and I asked the inevitable question - should Matfield have been in the Springbok squad at all?
The following was made in another thread on the Matfield issue - conveniently ignored by the Matfield supporters:-
*   Matfield started in two games and was injured in the second game.  He went off at minute 60 in the second test and came from the bench for 20 minutes in the semii-final,  He was just about par in the first two tests and a disaster in the semi-final.   Bad news."
I also challenged to provide info about the Matfield performances in the WC that could be regarded as justification for his selection to the squad and NOTHING came up on the part of his psychofants.  He was a waste of space in the WV squad and in all the games he played in this past 18 months.  The best thing to happen to the Springboks is that it is his last game for them tomorrow night.

Typical Pervert. You attack me off the subject.....get your head handed to you ....and then say I am off the subject. I raised Rettallik and Whitelock because their TOW positions proved my contention that  they outplayed all three Bok locks. You raised Rettallik completely off the subject to attack my veracity....you were off the point.

No you are off the point - the whole threat is about Matfield - you and blobok tried the diversion story instead of dealing with Matfield's performances in the WC and on Saturday.

Ceradunce

Missed tackles are atrocious and not acceptable - but that remark about missed tackles as quoted hereunder is just pure BS:-
"Pollard's missed tackles. You like to p!ss about Morne Steyn's missed tackles in this, that and the other game. Pollard missed five in this case. That is 25% of the total  number of missed tackles."
So lets compare the reason why I wrote about Morne's missed tackles.  In his last starting test in Perth Morne missed 7 tackles out of 15 attempted tackles - that is a missed tackle ratio of 46,3%.   In the case of Pollard on Saturday Pollard missed 5 out of 16 attempts - for a missed tackle ratio of  31,25%.  Sure - both were unacceptable - but to even compare the two players in that case is absolute BS.  Morne is and always was a worse defender than Pollard could ever be.
Incidentally in both the Perth test and the test on Saturday Habana got yellow-carded.  Granted the Perth test yellow card was an abortion and not really on - but why should a player with his massive experience get yellow-carded?   His yellow on Saturday was fully justified.  However, Mozart will get you for this one - he got a smack in the face in this case ads h always prats about experience - which always counts and in Habana's case his advocacy of experienced players got dented omnce again.

All the Matfield morons in full retreat.  The above quotation followed a diversion input by your fellow moron Ceradunce.
Answer my statements on Matfield you stupid fool.  Tell us where and how Matfield performed in this Tournament that justified his inclusion in the World Cup squad instead of snakelike contortions to get away without responding on the key issue raised .

No Moffie, I am not interested in TOW you idiot, lets get to the actual game......kindly man up and point out what exactly Retallick did that was better than Etzebeth and the same with reference to Whitelock over Lood.

For you are just speaking a load of utter shit as per usual......much like fucking useless Matfield being given a raw deal with the penalty reversal.....what a load of utter shit old fart

Everything you say is some pathetic attempt to protect the useless players you support and to put down the players who you don't rate, who happen to be all the youngsters who keep making your ignorant outlook mad week after week.

Look no further than Lood, who has been outstanding all WC, but you are so fucking pathetic that you will define him by a missed tackle and wait for it calling all the line-outs and marginalising Etzebeth in the process.......I have never read such utter shit in my life.

Now man up and talk us through how the NZ lock pair outplayed our two - fucking load of horse shit

Mozart, clearly you are not so good at interpreting video footage or pictures
The wee Bok supporter favors the pop gun & is one-eyed; whereas the AB supporter is a friendly bloke with a balanced view of what he sees and sports a McCaw hair cut.

Etzebeth and Lood are by far the best lock combo in the game...by far
Willemse and PSDT are better than the majority of test combo s as well.
We have locks to burn as we do in all positions

mozter -  "Stop yapping Dave, I am no turncoat like you. Perv I would commend Beano's attitude to you. He is no Matfield fan, but can clearly see the bias in this call."

beeno - It looks like the penalty reversal on matfield was an out and out crook by A YOB the bent Ozzie TMO. Thanks for doing the video [removed]ysis. It is clear that the vast majority ofincidents were perpetrated by nz o focourse but never picked by  dear George A YOB

everyone else -

@mozter,
u of all people should know that using brother beeno as a source of credibility for ur argument is a fail on every level, so shame on u.

next time try getting someone who knows that the penalty reversal wasnt a one way street.
