I was reading the on-line papers and it seems as if the EU countries are facing a refugee problem of massive proportions. That will obviously also affect the UK - so what is going to happen?
Another issue is - has security been increased for the upcoming WC - any news on that front?

I think their is issues in Turkey.
The UK has accepted some of the refugees, not sure if it is more a public relations exercise. I suppose it comes down to what percentage the UK took compared to other EU countries.

I was watching a discussion program this morning and there were many comments saying that the best thing for Cameron to do now is to sent in the air force and bomb the crap out of IS and Syria . The irony is that a year or two ago he wanted to do just that and everybody was against it. The House of Commons voted against it and every second Libtard was shouting about human rights and all kinds of BS.

This is a disaster for Europe. How long before Eurooe is tajen iver and under shsrah law.
Isis terrorists are among those coming in .
Europe needs to repatriate these refugees to muslim countries. In fact they need to decide their future rapidly. The security threats are enirmous as everything they stand fir is under threat. By people who will not be assimilated but want then to convert to muslim ways. Its a takeover bid. muslim numbers just keep rising year after year.
Wake up or perish.Europe.
David Cameron said his biggest surprise when becoming PM were the security yhreats facing Britsin. He must be havung sleepless nights now.

There is some truth in what you said and there are already serious security problems in particularly France, Spain and England. That is why I asked about potential threats at the RWC.
There are already rumblings in Europe amongst the electorate about what is happening and a further influx of refugees are going to have political repercussions. In England according to the latest opinion polls the majority of English voters are against continued membership of the EU and of the 37% of the voters who supported EU membership to be decided on by referendum, 22% said they might change their minds and vote against membership and there is a very real chance that UKIP will do much better in future selections.
The same political uncertainty is evident in France as well where the French National Party is growing rapidly according to news reports and could be a real threat to the other present major parties. There is also a serious increase in fringe parties in Germany and the Netherlands.
That is why the present Governments are in panic - they do not want to seem to be heartless by refusing to take in refugees while only fringe groups in the countries are really supporting the acceptance of the refugees. That means the governing parties are afraid of the political consequences and they cannot get agreement on anything.
However, the main thread could be during the upcoming Rugby World Cup and I hope they have the necessary security arrangements in place. They do not want a Munich 1972 Olympic Games repeated in England this year.

Not so sure about that statement - Jordan has got nearly a million refugees and so has Turkey. Israel refuses to allow Palestinian refugees from Syria to go back to the Palestine East Bank.

I know, but they are basically all unstable and mostly run by dictators The worst ones are Syria, Libya, Iraq and Yemen - they are all in a serious problem situation. Their major neighbours all have serious refugee problems from adjoining countries. These include the Gulf States, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Egypt and even Algeria.
08 Sept 2015, 11:43#11
Israel is building a fence to prevent any migration from Syria. 5 Gulf States have not taken one migrant between them.
As for Europe, you do not have a clue. It is chaos, the end of the EU, thank god, and, if things go badly, the start of WW3.
As for the RWC....no extra security measures and it has been the last of folks worries.
08 Sept 2015, 12:07#12
The UE started going down the tube when the defied their own principles, IMO. First by allowing more countries into the Union and secondly when they backtracked on one if the most important principles, i.e. not to use their central funds to bail out countries whose debts spiralled out of control.
08 Sept 2015, 12:28#13
The only way your going to get rid of ISIS is with boots on the ground ,and after the disaster Bush and co have already created in the middle east by removing Saddam instead of staying the fark outta there its not bloody likely .Strangely enough it wouldnt take that many boots either .

The problems started with the UK and US becoming involved in the Iraq war - that was a deadly misadventure. They should never have dealt with the Iraqis in the way they did. That created a cesspool of rubbish that is spinning out of control. The ME countries - with rare exceptions are not ready for democratic government and that accounts for most of them.
I think that the situation is already out of control and can only get worse. The bleeding-hearted Liberals will soon enough learn that their ideas do not work and I think that as long as the Europeans are viewed as rich countries - the rest of the world will try and get into the countries and claim rights for themselves they never had in the their countries of origin.
The EU countries will soon learn that they have created a problem for themselves that they cannot handle without taking drastic action to get the sources of refugees dealt with conclusively.

Here is what is scary
11 million people displaced just in Syria alone, with 4 million having got out of Syria itself, to Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Germany. Iraq has another 3.8 million people displaced.
Thousands or millions getting into the UK, France etc etc over a period of time
Already confirmed over 4 000 ISIS members have crossed over, with many more on the way disguising themselves as refugees / migrants.
They will then sit, wait, plan, and execute
It's only the start of many horrible things to come
Maybe, just maybe, this was the plan all along to disguise getting in

What is baffling me is that most ISIS members are not Syrians - they are from anywhere in the Muslim world - many even from the west.
However, I am sure that you are correct - big trouble coming. It has started in France already and the UK and Germany are next. The Netherlands is also in for some huge problems.
Not that they were not looking for it.

I think most intelligent people have already had those very same thoughts ! But we are not being listened to, because we do not count.
You should also realise that those who gave been " turned " already and have returned home, having realised the error of their ways ( yes, I know !! ), are allowed freedom to come and go as they please. There have been thousands in the programmes to " de-radicalise " people who have either already travelled abroad to fight, those brought home having travelled to join up to fight or those found to be involved in the issue here. I'm sure the programmes are a roaring success............
I would also say that a vast majority of individuals claiming asylum are not fleeing Syria or even terror, in any country. Quite a vast number are from Bangladesh/Pakistan/Eritrea/Chad/Nigeria/Vietnam/Thailand/Malaysia etc etc and are purely Economic migrants. They know that they only need to get to mainland Europe to gain an EU registration and they can pass into any country at will. The majority want to come to England ( a charming bunch of very young men from Nigeria and other African nations... They would not divulge.....with their mobile phones, ghastly jewellery and the like, all wanted to know how much tickets were to watch Chelsea play, because that was what they intend to do )
Yes, the majority now definitely want to leave the EU, thank god, and would if we had a Referendum tomorrow. I could go on about the EU, but I won't !!

Those who left should be treated as traitors, charged with treason, and never ever be allowed back into the country from where they left.
This crap where it's better to ask for forgiveness instead of permission makes me sick to the stomach.
Only because it did not work out the way they intended, do they now want to come home back to their families.
Meanwhile, how many people did they murder and rape whilst representing their home country fighting for ISIS?
Personally, I would not mind in the slightest if they exterminated them all
08 Sept 2015, 17:15#21
It is Treason and we still have that Law. But, as we have never executed a member of the IRA for their activities, I can't see us starting now !!
A number of those under these " programmes " are women, young girls and children.....
Don't ask.....

Instead of 15 months in prison for man or woman
Drop them directly off, right back to the exact front line point where ISIS is fighting from, so that they can hear the whistle of that drone missile for a few seconds before they are obliterated.

Just think what Europe is going to look like in 10 -15 years from now.
If you want to see what it will look like just go to Belgium and Paris for a start.
The Germans are accepting up to 200,000 A..rabs. Good-bye Germany and so much for your pure nation.
And don't forget Iran will have the Nuclear bomb soon....so good-bye USA and Israel.

You are correct the USA did do a lot in years gone by.....but now you guys have flipped with no direction, support or clue.
By the way we also contribute as a family to war vets.
These numbers flooding into Europe are just the start of a major move from Arab countries to take over Europe without firing a shot.
Give them temporary refuge and then send them back home is the only way around this crisis.
Hopefully we elect politicians who have B.A.L.L.S.

Cloudy a good friend of mine took a bullet in Vietnam....a little one way it went through his heart, a little the other and it blew up his shoulder. I went to the Marines ceremony where they honored him 30 years later. You can't attend those events without a shiver running down your spine. It's a selfless philosophy...no man left behind.
This year I went to the funeral of another Marine....a very decent man who was my boss early in my career. He had driven landing craft in the Pacific. Apart from the flame thrower operatives who were the target of every rifle, few had higher mortality rates than these landing craft drivers.
But I never learned that detail until the service. He never mentioned it. The Marines sent four men and women to the service and did the traditional presentation of the flag we have all seen in the movies.....in real life it has massive integrity.
These aren't the politicians that send men to war, they are the men who accept the consequences of those decisions.
No country has it all right. The USA suffers from being insular, not having a natural connection...seeing things through US coloured glasses. But the intentions are mostly honorable and the military people inherently decent, reliable and ultimately the World's first line of defence when bad things happen
What you and your friend did for these soldiers is to be commended Cloudy. I'm sure they were humbly grateful.

Unfortunately the problem is the politicians in the US and EU - not the ordinary citizens and soldiers. The US also have migrant problems from central and South America - that is causing a major problem for the locals, but not to the extent that it happens in Europe at present.
Lets face facts - the people who was involved in 9/11 was in the US for years before and so was the case in the Boston marathon bombing. The war in Iraq was ill-advised and based on crookery on political level and the direct result of the present ME crisis.
The same can be said of the London sub-way bombings and the UK involvement in the Iraq.
One has to accept that the real problem in both the US and EU is the political leaders in those countries. The only really good President the US had since WWII was Ronald Reagan and the only half decent Prime Minister the UK had was Maggie Thatcher - the rest were junk yard politicos in the game for self-enrichment and worse.
The present situation is that the EU is in serious trouble and they are not going to get out of it. Even Merkel is not going to survive that one - she is the only major EU leader with any principles, but has surrender her principles in the Greek financial crisis and also in this case. Putin is also standing up for Russia and is consequently despised by everyone in Europe and the US. He will not allow his country to be taken over by foreigners.
Since the 1950's the problems in the World have been escalating and there is no way that things will get better.

Denny....the middle eastern Arabian countries never have supported any war with troops.
I believe that one of the shortest books is titled:
ARAB list of War Hero's.
They have always relied on Western action to sort out their issues.
Just think of the 6 day war with Israel as a prime example.
Many young men have perished and been injured seriously fighting for one or other cause in the Middle East without their ever being peace.
The different tribes and faiths will never ever live in peace in that region as long as the sun rises.
Unfortunately for all of us.
