World arm wresting from Las Vegas provides more evidence that age is just a number
You have serious issues about your age and the beckoning grave, don't you?
To the point of obsessiveness.
I bet you wake in the morning soaked with fearful perspiration.
Thankful for another day.
Get a grip.
Hey Chubs ... that would make him what ... 130?
I love the fact that you used the word "buff" ... and that with the beer belly your sporting!!!!
I gotta thank you, Fats ... needed a good laugh!
I have to come across a new thread on this site on the issue of age of sportsmen started by anyone other than the moron in the USA. If it is not Ice-Hockey, it is baseball or cricket or boxing, or any sporting code you can ever think up. That indicates an absolute crave to have sportsmen his age to perform - an idiocy that never enter his soggy brain as mindless. Perhaps he wants by implication trying to convince us that Matfield is despite his age still wor th something - but that is also mindless.
Maybe somebody on this site should remind him that this is a rugby site - not a site for raving about the age of sportsmen of any other sporting code.
Thanks Moz
To the idiots moaning about this thread, grow up.
Some news about some other sport mixed in with rugby will never hurt anyone, and it makes for interesting reading for some of us.
Get a grip
I have no problem with other sports being mentioned on the site - but then it must be all sports without reference to the age of participants. Age is immaterial but performance is. It is this constant harping on the age of players that is not worth reading about - because the old fool thinks that since some older sportsmen perform well - it applies to the lot he is advocating iro rugby as well.
His one-sided attack on Le Clos without checking what led to an exchange of words between Phelps and Le Clos was not only childish - it was vicious as well. The only thing that excited the fool is the fact that Phelps is much older than Le Clos - that turns Le Clos into an il-behaving brat according to him. .
Mike
The problem here is the posters who take offense to age being brought up, not the fact that age is sometimes being brought up.
It's a fact of life.... and sport.
I mean seriously....... grown adults on here are getting upset because a certain poster is bringing age into some of his posts.
Here I thought the latest ISIS incident was worth giving some meaningful thought, whilst others get distressed over the age of some sports personalities that a poster mentions now and again.
Clearly I have my priorities about what is wrong in this world the wrong way around then.
As for the Phelps and Le Clos reference, the last I checked you had it wrong on that thread, or am I wrong?
First of all let me put you in the picture first. I do not regard age as a factor in sports. In some codes older players routinely do better than younger ones. The only reason Mozart brings in other sports is when he is onto the age issue. He never raised a another sporting code where age is not the only reason for him raising the issue on this site.
To my mind age has no bearing on the issue - it is ultimately performance that is important. If age si the only reason for the topic raised, why not relate to us also the performances of for instance younger swimmers that did particularly well in Kazan for instance. Why not refer to gymnastics where the top performers are often enough below the age of 16?
What irks me about the issue is that the real pretense is to show that Matfield is still in top form - despite his age - and that the age factor does not count in rugby. That is why the constant reports emphasizing older participant performers was wrong.
Insofar as the Le Clos issue is concerned I was watching the Chartres events and was sure that Le Clos time was given as 50,25 secs. However, the newspaper article reflected another time - so I accept I was wrong. What irked me about that one was a heinous attack on Le Clos based on sport reporting in the US, where the media is extremely biased. Instead of checking out what preceded the report by the US Channels - Mozart went on the rampage against Le Clos - and emphasized age difference again. His attack on Le Clos was the worst possible attack I have ever witnessed on a SA sportsman of that quality by a person who is supposedly supporting SA sportsmen. It was plain and simple attached strictly to the fact that Le Clos is younger than Phelps - nothing else.
Anyway - it does not take away from the fact that most of the players Mozart support for inclusion in the Springbok squad are really not acceptable performers - so the age and experience became the only issue most of their supporters can use to justify their presence in the squad.
Mike
The fact that anything related to age bothers you so much is more concerning to me than the real time that Le Clos got.
It's another poster's opinion - prerogative - interest, and not much else. Wow, relax a bit bro.
And this:
"He never raised a another sporting code where age is not the only reason for him raising the issue on this site"
Careful now..... that's a very bold statement to make
On a side note, why does Moz call you "Pervert"?, I have been away for a bit so I'm guessing I missed a scrap or something which initiated this moniker
It wasn't just that he was wrong about Le Clos....it's all the insults he hurled at me for supposedly being wrong about Le Clos. And then he disappears....only to reappear hurling more insults on a totally inn ocuous subject.
I think it would be fair to say that for him it's become an obsession....a sickness.
Because I used some pics of sportsmen that I admire as avatars. If I was the only one - fine, but I am not. However, the problem is that the pics I use are all of players Mozart dislikes with a vengeance - and that caused him to go bananas in this case. It definitely is disgusting in every way possible.
I made mention of his obsession a little while back......it seems to have intensified.
Mike.....whatever your issues with Mozart, sorry mate, I'm not here to solve them. Your outcry for the return of one low life and your disgusting cry for support from the disgusting Clean Cut, is pathetic. Be a man, either fight your own battles or deliver on your promise to ignore . Right now you're sounding like a Sook.
I see
Thanks for the update Denny
If I was wrong about asking Rooinek to return - it was done because I hate to see posters being chased away from the site. The pervert issue has nothing to do with that one - it boils down to the avatar issue.
I do not need help from anyone when it comes to differences of opinion, so I think that your interpretation is somewhat defective in this case.
The thing that should raise questions is why the discussions between Mozart and myself and Ceradyne and myself have taken such a nasty turn - while I do not have running battles with anyone else on the site - and I differ from a lot of other posters on issues. If I am the one totally in the wrong than I am prepared to apologize, but I do not think that is the case. Mozart had running battles with a string of other posters and some has left the site because of deteriorating discussions that is really pathetic.
Oh I forgot Ole Cruz, the great Bargie lock left because I was mean to him. Wehe.
And for the record, while I might joke about it, I do think your interest in young, pretty boys is not normal. Nor is the venom you direct at old players, like Matfield or Smith who inhibit their progress.
I think you are a coward and a disgusting low borne pri ck - but then what can one expect from the fact that you did not comment on the Bulls-Stormers game this weekend. Is it because in that game it was clear that WP lost badly because they were playing your style of rugby and the Bulls modern rugby? Is it because it proves that Matfield was a disaster s Bulls attacking coach? Was it because Ludeke was a disaster as a coach? Was it because between Ludeke, Spies and Matfield they have destroyed the team spirit of the team with the result that they were just going through the motion and that the new coach and new captain in four games turned the team spirit around into players enjoying what they do on the field of play and doing their work enthusiastically?
A sad case all round. Only young boys interest the poor fellow. I' m guessing it's a lonely twilight.
Unconfirmed sources say that Beeno had Noddy as his avatar & to my knowledge no one has called him Noddy.
Maybe it's time to let this line of banter go ?

- and your Matfield is sh!t poor in the books of most SA sport supporters. I am not the only one who said so.
Careful Mike
One would think from this statement above, that because supposedly many people around the country are speaking out, and sometimes in a very disgusting manner, about players who have done so much for their country, that it is perfectly fine and normal for you to do the same.
That's where we would disagree
I couldn't care less what other people are posting, but when you join in that same chorus, and post it on here, it sort of highlights your flaws
I do respect players for what they contributed in the past - but when one criticize their present performance and what many see as deficiency - I am flawed in your eyes. Unlike other members I have not criticized Matfield on what he achieved in the past - but is dealing only with the present. The same applied to Graeme. I saw what was happening since 2011 in the shorter versions of the game and that Smith was not performing. When I raised the issue it was like a red rag to a bull for some members - for them it was a mortal sin. After a string of questionable performances Smith was dropped from the ODI-side - so what is wrong in stating the obvious.
Fact is that since Matfield returned to the Springbok squad we had a rather poor year on international level and the Bulls a rather disastrous year as a team in Super 15. With Ludeke in charge and Matfield as attacking coach - the Bulls was a disaster in all competitions.
Insofar as the problems is concerned I am not at all happy with the fact that our Tight 5 has deteriorated badly in the past year and part of the problem is undoubtedly Matfield.
People I believe are free to express their opinions and they should be able to do so without being called perverts and other names just because they differ from some members. I do not like constant references to past greats as if they still perform on the same level at present and when present performances are queried - some members do not defend the players concerned by proving me or other members wrong - they attack other competing players and ultimately turn discussions into making personal attacks as a solution.
I have also seen obscene lies and degrading of younger players on this site - basically because they pose a selection threat to the older players favoured by some. That certainly is a flaw as well.
I have had differences of opinion with you in the past and those have not degraded to the level of some members like Mozart and Ceradyne in dealing with such differences. With them differences are not confined to rugby issues - it deteriorates to the level of persistent personal attacks.
Here is the problem Mike
Are you stating here that Matfield has never ever, from last year to this year, done anything remotely good on the rugby field for you to post about?..... only negative remarks.
I have yet to see one iota of positivity coming from you regarding Matfield.
In other words, no matter how bad or good Matfield is, in any given game, he will always be bad in your eyes, because that is what I see every week from you on here.
If I am wrong, by all means, let me know, but I have not seen anything remotely positive from you regarding Matfield in any form whatsoever on this forum in recent times.
