How heavy was that. Jirre!!! I'm sure there is more to come. It looks very staged and pre planned by Ashwin. It definitely does not look impromptu.

Who the fnuck is this Ashwin Willemse who said he was a quota player but worked hard (during the years he played?) to remove that perception.

Well, he was a quota player right through his playing career.

He scored only 5 tries in 20 tests from 2003 to 2007.

As for the fact that he pays no attention to what Mallett and Naas have to say, the following: Mallett still holds the record for the Bok coach with the most successive wins (17 if I remember correctly) and Naas was in his time described as the best 10 in the world and some even said he was the Dan Carter of those years. Ashwin Willemse should rather pay attention when these 2 players talk about their field of expertise.

Finally ... good riddance.

He was selected to play for the Boks because of his skin colour ... in other words ... a quota.

He was appointed to discuss rugby in English and yet lacked the ability to speak the language properly ... in other words ... a simple case of a BEEE appointment.

He's a quota with an attitude problem.

Hope that's the last I see of him.

If you recall there was a group Sokoto (spell error) about 12 months ago, that wanted Naas and Mallett to retire on the basis of racism. This group claimed that both Naas and Mallett were racially biased.

Perhaps the same crew is paying him to get rid of Mallet and Naas on air on the basis of racism.

He seemed calm when he did this- so much so that it was possibly rehearsed. It is an awkward situation because it is forcing SuperSport to take a side.

If they side with Ashwin, it is goodbye to Naas and Mallett. If Ashwin is dropped, it will be a victory for the Cosatu

Obviously a plot to oust Mallet and Naas.

Sports minister calls for Mallett, Botha's suspension over Willemse's SuperSport walk-offously

Cape Town - The Minister of Sport and RecreationTokozile Xasa has responded to the drama that unfolded live on-air in the SuperSport studio on Saturday evening.

WATCH: Ashwin Willemse walks off SuperSport set after disagreement with Nick Mallett and Naas Botha

In sensational scenes, Ashwin Willemse walked off set following an apparent disagreement with co-presenters Nick Mallett and Naas Botha.

This behavior of entitlement by some white South Africans who continue to think that their whiteness represent better must come to an end, if it was not for a barbaric nonsensical apartheid system that privileged them we could not have implemented quota system to normalize an otherwise abnormal system," said Xasa.

"Willemse is not just a former Springbok player but in 2003 he was named SA Rugby Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year and the Player’s Player of the Year. Players like Willemse, (Bryan) Habana and (Siya) Kolisi continue to make us proud as a nation and affirm that they are not token players or quota players.” Xasa said.

The statement continued:

The department of Sport & Recreation through its transformation charter that was adopted in 2011 noted that quota system has been largely unsuccessful in bringing about an effectively transformed sport system and is causing substantial consequential damage for many black players who were labelled as ‘tokens’, and referred to as mere replacement of white face with a black face.

“It is clear that Ashwin Willemse was referred as a quota player by his fellow panelists despite his many successes in the field of play, I call upon SuperSport to suspend the two panelists while they are busy with full investigation.

The continued appearance of Mallet and Botha will be seen as an endorsement of their alleged racist behavior,” Xasa said.

Xasa called upon all South Africans to continue to use sport to unite, create social cohesion and build our nation. Racist elements must be exposed and isolated the statement concluded.

SuperSport posted a tweet following the incident confirming they are "aware of the on-air incident" and are "looking into the matter".

Later on Saturday evening, SuperSport issued a second tweet stating that they view the incident "in a serious light" and will "conduct a full investigation and interview all relevant individuals".

While it remains unclear at this stage what led to Willemse's obvious unhappiness, the former Lions and Springbok wing said: “I’ve been in the game for a long time like most of us here. As a player, I’ve been called a quota for a long time and I’ve worked very hard to earn the respect I have now. I’m not going to sit here and be patronised by these two individuals (Mallett and Botha) who played their rugby during the apartheid era, a segregated era.”

Willemse went on to say he "can't work with people who undermine other people" and that he was "glad it happened on live TV so that people can see". SEE WHAT YOU DUMBASS!

The former winger, 36, played for the Springboks between 2003 and 2007, scoring five tries in 19 appearances.

This race baiter Willemse thinks disagreeing with him on a rugby matter shows the other party are racists!!! This again shows how bad things are getting in South Africa for minorities. The Sports M inister will do his best to get Mallet and Naas fired.

In Jake Whites Book, Jake White recruited Willemse from a township. Apparently Jake White even paid him money before he earned a good contract. Jake White said that Willemse is the most committed rugby player he has ever seen and that if everyone tried as hard as he did- the Boks would never lose.

It is a pity to see this as Willemse was a top quality player, and he certainly was not a quota. He did get injured and did not have the longest career- but he was a quality player.

Plum, I would question his character more than the ability to play rugby. It appears he has been bribed to do this, or he wants to make is the Willemse Show.
It is clearly something that has been on his mind for some time. By threatening to resign he is forcing his employer to make a decision between him and Naas/Mallet- therefore making this related to race.
The TV channel will now have a choice of saying it is a baseless accusation or take action against Naas/Mallet by firing them.
This is all conspiracy stuff - that Mallet and Botha are not objective in their assessment of players due to race bias.

This was obviously an organized move by the Minister and Cosato to get rid of Botha and Mallett from the panel - there was no real incident or comments made by Mallet or Botha that caused Willemse  to walk out.

The problem with Mallett and Botha is that they made comments on all players - irrespective of race - but that does not sit well with Government - who expected from them, to glorify the potential quota players and attack only the White players.

I saw this coming a long time - the transformation agenda is not popular with the general public and they need "poodles" to sell it by all means possible.   They need transformation t o be popularized at all costs - and that is why the incident in fact happened..

It would be better if this storm in a teacup is ignored for the BS it is.

Considering that everything was probably recorded and I highly doubt Mallet and Naas said racist things, it's quite obvious he got pissed because he perceived them as ganging on him.

They probably just agreed and took it up wrong.

Remember this isn't the first time Ashie has jumped on Nick...2016 during the Irish series.

Apparently Willemse thought Mallett's suggestion that he be allowed to speak first was patronising. Score another one for Quotas. All these non white Boks live under the quota shadow....that they are not considered worthy. Willemse was a gutsy player, and a competitor. He got his jersey on merit. Stop quotas, stop job bias....make it a level playing field, and see our black players blossom. A good place to start is not to select Kolisi as Bok captain,

AW acted like a hyper sensitive teenager with a huge chip on his shoulder...Mallet does tend to have an over bearing character but he does this not with ill intentions ...AW has an inferiority complex subconsciously because NM had a blue chip education, St Andrews, Cambridge University etc with a good family background...it seems there is always deep hidden complexes in those lesser fortunate...AW acted like a wimp...a pussy cat...needs to grow up and act like a man.

Mallett belittled Willemse by correcting his grammar and this was even after Willemse had corrected it himself! Willemse said “the results is there” and immediately corrected it to “the result is there” but wanker Mallett still slipped in “are” in a condescending tone. How embarrassing to be corrected on national TV! I hope Mallett is banned. He obviously still believes he’s a superior being....

Moolaa

The problem is that they want somebody in that penal to promote the potential quota selections and to always criticize White players and praize the potential quota players.   It is a political game - nothing else.

You can get it from the comments by the Minister and the ANC crowd.   They have to have a person who would promote their unpopular quota system and it is not happening at present.

There was nothing special about Willemse at all. He had a little pace but that sadly is where it ends.

One would think a class act would have scored a lot more tries in that many test matches. He sat on his side of the field and waited for someone to give him the ball.

He was included in Jake's squad for the 07 WC. Why? He wasn't there to enhance the squad at all. In fact, the little time he spent on the field showed him up as slow and way past his best ... not that his best was much to write home about.

One would think that anyone with a speech impediment wouldn't make it on radio or in this case live television. He was appointed there too as a quota to make up the numbers.

He used his only attribute, his skin colour, to make a more than decent life for himself. What we saw was a childish tantrum. His response to being teased.

In short ... he was a quota from start to finish.

Simply useless.

Moolaa, that makes Mallet an asshole, not a racist. Who here has not had a work colleague/classmate/boss/church congregant that was an asshole? Is that now a reason to be fired and have the minister of sport call for suspension?
It is well known that Mallett was not particularly liked as a coach because of his domineering attitude. Not liked by many players...of different colours. Supersport must have known this about him when they hired him, and they did it anyway. You get assholes in every sphere of life. Sissy boy Ashwin should have stood up to him off air and told Mallett to treat him properly or piss off. Instead he jumped on the race bandwagon and now all the politicians can push their agenda onto an incident that had nothing to do with race when it started. Just a big headed asshole that needed to be put in his place.

This is ridiculous,   All three commentators have contracts with Supersport and the problemsi that the only one in fact that breached that contract was Willemse.

Those contracts would have clauses tht prevent that kind of outburst and one will have o wait an see what will happen here.   I think that the problem will be solved and Willemse and theother two will remain on the panel -since action gainst Mallett and Botha will be problematic and the comments of Willemse in fact was racxist.

For the sake of peace Supersport will co-ordinate some reconciliation since there is nothing that they can prove to be racist on the part of neither Mallett nor Botha.
