Rooidrol, I have given you some time to think about it but it is clear that you are as thick as a brick.
Read the OP and try to think why I would have wanted to bump this thread. Nothing to do with Lestat schooling you, mate. All to do with Goosen and his biggest fan. Hence the woosh or, since you are hell-bent on being a pedantic  old fart, ........whoosh.
Glad I could help.

Cera, I was never a Goosen fanboy, and I never picked him as a sure Bok starter in important games. Yes, he has been injured a lot, but he has enough talent to go all the way if he works hard. ATM it seems that there is some kind of trouble with him at racing. Every story has 2 sides, and we have heard one angle from the coach. On and off the field issues, attitude, discipline, etc? That is probably true, but there might be a reason for it and doing his washing in the media says something about the coach. That does not make Goosen a bad player. There can't be one single reason for a coach to make such statements about one of his players in public. There were no rumors of this kind of behavior at the Cheetahs and I don't see Naka condoning ill discipline or work ethic. I think the Frenchman might be a tad full of IT and full of himself.

@Draad. Reading between the lines, it is clear that he has been spoken to and it is also clear that they have not given up on him and have given him one more season to sort himself out. He has been a professional sportsman for a few years now and should not have these kinds of issues.

Agreed, but I still smell a rat when coaches berate players in public. One of my main gripes with Mallet as well. Poor form by the coach.

That probably happened and then you say something like: " Internal disciplinary action for not complying with team protocol" You don't go into details, unless you want to totally fnck up a player's confidence. Basics in PR and player management. A coach/player relationship is almost like Father/son. Mentoring etc....in private or team environment,  not public.

Psychotic, your state of mind is starting to bother me and as a matter of fact I think you are in dire need of professional care....go now before it's too late.

I mean this in the nicest possible way....as one fellow human being to another.

Reading through the stench of your hypocrisy and hate driven posts is enough to suggest that you're about to go over the edge.

One more thing, before you go picking on Lestat just remember how you were enthusing about Jean Deysel's return and in your own words he was going to "enhance the Sharks chances" Hmmmm?

Only to change your tune a week later when he was suspended after another thug act.

Now off you go, don't go hurting anyone else, you only have yourself to be blamed for not having a friend in the world.

While Goosen's coach is apparently quite p!ssed off at him, Morne Steyn's coach must be fairly pleased that Steyn did not swap Stade Francais for Paris Saint Germain FC........
http://www.espn.co.uk/rugby/story/_/id/13072285/stade-francais-beat-clermont-12-6-win-top-14-title-stade-de-france
Stade Francais crowned Top 14 champions as Clermont suffer heartbreak again Stade Francais clinched their first Top 14 title in eight years and ensured Clermont's miserable record in French top-flight finals continued with a 12-6victory at the Stade de France.

Sunday's showpiece final in Paris was settled with the boot, as South Africa fly-half Morne Steyn kicked Stade Francais to glory and condemned Clermont to an 11th defeat in 12 French finals.

Stade Francais defeated both Racing Metro and triple European champions Toulon to ensure a new name would be on the Bouclier de Brennus this season, while Clermont saw off Toulouse last weekend to set up a repeat of the 2007 final.

The Parisian club took advantage of Clermont's early indiscipline as Morne kicked Stade Francais into a 6-0 lead with 21 minutes on the clock. Morgan Parra wasted two kicks to level the scores, before Steyn kicked his third penalty of the match to give Stade Francais a 9-0 advantage.

However, after taking over kicking duties for Clermont, Camille Lopez split the posts to reduce the lead to six points at the break after Jonathan Danty was penalised during the ruck.

Another good maul from Clermont forced a penalty shortly after the break and allowed replacement Brock James to kick his side within three points, but the Australian failed to level the scores when given the chance shortly after.

Despite their late efforts, Clermont, who had already suffered defeat to Toulon in the European Champions Cup final earlier this season, could not find a breakthrough as Steyn sealed victory for Stade Francais with a late penalty.

So another championship won with Morne in a central role....meanwhile Goosen drops the ball. Gosh this isn't going according to the script.

Morne had a Sh!t performance other than to convert four penalties.   His stats says it all:-
Steyn0/01216/12/4501026/50/000/0
His ball carrying was near to zero - he lost ball possession twice and his tackles stats were normal Morne's fare - with a missed tackle ratio in excess of 45%.
He was lucky to get a few starting games because of injury to Plisson.
I think that Goosen did not adjust to the French rugby environment and it had really nothing top do with performance on the field of play and everything to do with off-the-field issues.  Rumour is he is going to return to play for the Stormers at flyhalf and then he will really show what a good flyhalf means to the Stormers backline.

Another early Oom prediction? Wasn't that exactly what Goosen was going to do at Racing Metro?
Read the article again. Goosen is likely to stay at RM for at least one more season. In addition, his off-field problems was apart from his poor performances on-field.
BTW, we have been told time and again, that you never use stats alone to asses a player and you only use stats to confirm what you have actually witnessed. Are you saying that you have watched the game and that the stats confirm what you have seen?

The trashing of Goosen by the oldies brigade is absurd. Goosen come to the Stormers please!
Morne has always had a good boot bar one well know test in nz. But how is his other play doing. Mike's stats appear to show he is not contributing much?

Morne remains a liability for any team insofar as backline play is concerned.  His defense remains putrid.  His only claim to fame remains his kicking at goal.  I think that he is lucky to get a few games because Plisson was injured - otherwise he is just not good enough to warrant selection by Stade Francais.
I know Goosen has to stay with RM for two more seasons - not one as suggested by you - but he may get a release from the rest of his contract if he and his wife has adjusted problems in France.  Fact is that there was no suggestion on the part of RM that they want to terminate his contract in the report above and that the problems were not with his performance, but about off-field issues.
His performances - when he did play - was twice as good as Morne at his best.  Unlike the case with Stade Francais who tried unsuccessfully to get rid of Morne by palming him off to another club, there is no determined effort on the part of RM to get rid of Goosen.

I'll download the game and assess Morné, but the reality is that Michael is yet again covered in egg. Every prediction has gone horribly wrong. Eery argument blown apart in spectacular fashion. Every lie exposed. But still he doesn't want to concede defeat, still winning in his mind! What a dolt!

@Beeno: Beeno, Goosen has never showed an aptitude for 10 at any point in his senior career. The writing was on the wall when the Bulls blew him away in a landslide victory in the Cheetahs second game of 2012. It was all too easy to see, if one could muster the strength to open their eyelids. Morné remains our bets option at test level, with Pollard next in line. Lambie is a fullback, Goosen is a fullback. That is it, end of discussion.

His contract was for three years - and one of those were completed.   However, I think that Goosen - who got married in February - may have problems with his better half not wanting to remain in Paris and local rumours is that he may ask for release of his contract for personal reasons.   He is likely to join the Stormers in that case.

Apparently these issues followed him from South Africa. Not the kind of issues you want lingering if you are struggling to make it at senior level. Goosen is destined to be one of those lost causes that never fulfills his potential. Note that I said potential, not expectations placed on him; expectations which were far too lofty given his ability.

Ou Tokkie, you are busy farting in the bath and biting the bubbles. The bottom line is that the RM coach said that he has a three year contract and that there are things that needs to be fixed. He also suggested that if the problems could not be sorted out, then Goosen might not be there (at RM) for the third season.
What it boils down to us that Goosen might find himself being flogged off to another club.
Sound familiar?

 Letsal and Ceradyne
This story "these issues followed him from South Africa" is unadulterated BS.  There never was a problem when Goosen played for the Cheetahs - so where the above came fro0m is illousionary and absolute tripe.
I am not saying anything imaginary.   Goosen got married on 7 February and his troubles with the club apparently started after his marriage.     Like Ranger - who could not find his feet at Montpellier - chances are that for personal reasons he may be released by RM.
There is no way Goosen would be flogged off to another club - if as the situation is he and his wife want to return to SA.   He is not a liability - like Dear Morne is - and another club would accept him, but that is not the case here.
However, we would soon know which way the wind is blowing.

Morne, the liability, helped his club win the Top14. Goosen's club ignored him at the business end of the competition. They were not even prepared to risk him on the bench for the play-offs.

Back to normal idiocy with you - you know clearly why he was not playing for RM - if you read the article.  It had bugger-all to do with rugby performance and everything to do with off-field  issues.
Morne kicked four penalties - which Plisson or any better flyhalf than Morne could have done.  You did not see the rest of his performance - which was standard Morne rubbish.
But then you are the dunce who says that Morne is a flyhalf.  He is a Vodacom Cup level flyhalf whose only real asset is he kicks at goal accurately - the rest of his game remains poor.

If he was as spectacular a player as you would like to believe, his club would have worked around the off-field issues, don't you think? Nah, it looks like the off-field stuff was just one of the issues that played a part in his absence from the team sheets.

Hmmmm... Not bad for the liability with his normal standard rubbish to help Stade Francais to win 5 out of their last 6 matches. At the business end of the competition! So apparently Stade got much more consistent since Plisson got injured...

First of all you need to have a flyhalf to help you to get into those positions to actually receive convertable penalties. And then he has to score them. Which his opposition could not do from easier positions. Also strange how many tries Stade scored in the game against Racing and the semis with this liability in their midst....

 The Trooth Fairy
If you look at the stats you find that Morne was sh!t in both games - his sole contribution was kicking at goal.   This most reasonable goal kicking flyhalfs would have been able to do.   For the rest he was standard Morne - a poor performer and a liability for teams he plays for.  Putrid defense - missing nearly half all attempted tackles, losing ball possession as a result of inaccurate kicking out of hand and no ball carries of value.
If you expect from a flyhalf to be an accurate goal kicker only - you are welcome to Morne - if you expect something more from a flyhalf, then forget about him.   I expect much more from a flyhalf as most flyhalfs on franchise levels are capable to do goal-kicking.   Just think about the fiasco Morne was in Perth last year and you should have bad dreams about him and if you don't think about the Argentina tests how he unsuccessfully tried to make sure the Argentinians won the two RC tests last year, you should have nightmares .  The furthest Morne is way from the Springbok squad the better it would be for the squad.

Michael uses two yardsticks: 1.The lie, it's easier because you have a greater scope for creativity; 2.Numbers he does not understand or provide context to.

That's it. The number of lies I have caught this oaf in beggars belief.

Dont be a bloody moron.  I do not lie when I said a player under-performs - I am dead honest about it.   The numbers I used I always provide context to - otherwise they are useless.   The fact that Morne last week missed more than 45% of attempted tackles is clear as daylight.   It is nothing new - in the Perth test he missed 55% of attempted tackles.   That indicates piss-poor defense on his part.   In the tests he played in since 2012 - the situation was not any better - his average missed tackle ratio always varied between 25% and 30% of attempted tackles.
Morne is the worst unthinking flyhalf (he is totally robotic and has to be told in advance what to do) we had over the past two decades and that remains a fact.

Ou Tokkie, you have told us, time after time, that you always only use stats to confirm what you have witnessed in games. Did you lie when you said that or are you lying now when you are assessing Morne Steyn's game on stats alone?
