Rooi fails to note our primary ball carrier is Lood. Got a few things terribly wrong. Strange that he writes on the same site as Scott Allen. What a strange world we live in. 

 Twelve years ago RooiAAS was telling us Luke Watson is the real deal and Schalk has no talent.....one IRB Player of The Year award and numerous other awards later, like World Come Back Athlete of the year and he is still droning on. Thankfully not here...we have read everything he has to offer. Let me guess, Schalk is the weakest runner in international rugby....bwaaaaaahahahahaha.

Schalk has been our most effective loose forward thus far. 

There are various discussions on this site.  And the fact is that reality is where we will fall flat if we use the wrong approach in the upcoming game against Wales.   i think that Schalk is a very good loosie, but to use him as first or second receiver of balls when coming from mauls is a serious mistake - as proven in the Japan fiasco.   He is not the strongest ball carrying loosie around.
Incidentally the same technique was tried in 2011 in the quarterfinal - but Schalk role was then handled by Matfield and it was equally ineffective as it was in the game against Japan.
           

So I suppose having a pod of forwards attacking the seam behind the tail of the lineout is not a good way to attack? So what is? As far as I'm concerned that is the very best option you have! We can't have Damian crash it up and besides it has worked very well. Schalk has been getting over the gainline. Job done, next topic.

 
Yes it is, Fox ... now to find us that good loose forward cause what we have in Schalk, Flo, Alberts and Kolisi f alls way short.

The ONLY loose forward worthy of his spot is Vermeulen.

 

Duane has been a lesser presence in the WC than Schalk, even Louw has made more of an impact thus far. 

 I have no problem with players at the backline - but in the case of Burger - he was very sloppy in the Japanese game and more effective subsequently.   He routinely goes down with the first tackler.
De Allende is not a crashballer like you claim he is.  Unlike some of the other 12's we had and especially Steyn he regularly beats the first defender and gets over the gainline in the case of what you call crashballing  and make ball recovery easy - while putting the opposing defenders at a disadvantage.   A crashballer is a player that runs directly to the first defender and is tackled going straight down before he gets to the gainline.          

 
Sure ... if you think that running around at high pace getting nowhere is effective then by all means, Schalk's your man.

Granted, Duane hasn't hit any sort of form yet, but we both know he's a class act and it'll take him a little while to find his groove from being out a few months ... to be expected.

Still ... that leaves the Goats with a problem. The only decent loosie they have is struggling with his form.

Once again Meyer must step up and take the blame for selecting him. He should have had a contingency plan.
