The Folau try.....JJ again at fault

So finally another poster who sees the king has no clothes. Contact at the 22, AC down 12 metres out from the line ......a long passage in contact. 

I agree with BL that JJ did well holding Beale, although I'm not sure why he is drifting backwards. In similar situations we have seen centres like Jean, O Driscoll or Conrad Smith rush forward and smother the passer.

Then when Beale passes, given he has chosen the drift approach,  he had to make a clinical tackle.....he had the time to do that. In fact going low would have been the normal centre reaction.

But given he went high...how did he do. As we now know it took him 8 strides to bring AC to the deck. And Dave says a smother tackle was the order of the day. But did he smother him or get an arm around to interfere with the release? Nope AC was able to make his pop pass as easily as if he was playing with a group of kids on a Sunday afternoon.

So I raise the questionable tactic of drifting back, the failure to make a clean tackle and the poor execution of the smother tackle. One has to conclude if an opposing player is in space near our line guarded by JJ, we are in peril, just as we saw with Bosch and Barrett last year.

Moz your take on the JJ tackle is a load of rubbish......but what is even funnier is you cuddling up to the halfwit for support......stop aiming so low bud.

Nice try...but we can all see what happened in the pictures and it's completely different from your description.

Yep he did it so perfectly they scored an easy try.

Moz, what I find quite astounding is your inability to see the full picture or complete lack of appreciation of the finer arts of the game you love. If we take your observations literally we would have to conclude that JJ failed in a head on tackle on AC, for if JJ had met AC head on, he would have stopped him dead in his tracks, something he has done all season with one on one hits.

Your observations seem to completely ignore the fact that as a result of the Skelton decoy run, JJ was left to cover Beale first and later AC. Beale attacked JJ, drew him and in the process put AC into space……AC was past JJ, JJ caught him with ease and took him down on contact…….it was that simple. JJ was not left in a one on one situation against AC, he had to effect a lateral tackle from behind after Beale had made the pass. The fact that this part of the equation plays no part in your observation clearly points to your ignorance or hell bent desire to discredit JJ.

Fact is JJ effected a good tackle on AC and that v/Zyl was left to tackle Folau, which he failed to do – hardly surprising given we are talking Folau one on one.
